Haven't seen much speculation on here yet regarding our new manager.
How do people feel about some of the names that have come up? i.e. John Hartson, Robbie Neilson, Kenny Miller?

Robbie Neilson seems to be getting mentioned for a number vacant posts
I don't see Kenny Miller as the right fit for livi.
What about Danny Lennon or Alan Maybury?

Neilson has Premiership experience & Hearts deteriorated badly after he left.
Miller has no managerial experience but might be able to secure some decent loanees
Hartson has no managerial experience but now knows the club & staff & would no doubt be able to work within the constraints mentioned by Ward
Danny Lennon has experience but he’s not been in the frame for a few jobs now so why should we be interested
Alan Maybury... same as Lennon but less experience
Other names mentioned - Jim Duffy - checks the boxes & was complimentary towards our team all season - has a tendency to fade after a good start though.
Jim McIntyre - seems to have fallen off the radar lately after a reasonable start to management
James McPake - obvious ties to the club but maybe a bit too soon for him
Jimmy Calderwood - another who has decent credentials but has disappeared from view

James McPake has ruled himself out. Sadly Jimmy Calderwood has been diagnosed with early onset altzheimers. Danny Lennon is with Clyde.

Yeah, I was aware of McPake’s comments but he had been linked.
Shame for Calderwood & his family - dementia is a very difficult thing to deal with for all concerned.
Hmmm - so Lennon hasn’t done too bad in Cumbernauld then.

Lennon could be a good move. He has done a good job with Clyde

Any truth in Paulo Sergio being linked?
I would have him in a heartbeat!
He did well at Hearts

Any truth in Paulo Sergio being linked? That'd be interesting but I'm sure he'd be looking for lots of cash so I'd be more keen on someone prepared to build on what we already have and see Hartson as a perfect fit. It's unlikely that he'll get the job though and there's every chance it'll go to some other same old same old on the Scottish manager merry-go-round.

Sergio would be very interesting but highly unlikely, I don’t think we would even try to afford him.
Hartson may fit the bill perfectly given his existing connection with the club. It wouldn’t surprise me for the club to go with him except for one thing, Ward’s comment that they would like someone with experience.

I'd be surprised if someone with experience was to come in on their own and be expected to work with the last guys backroom team.
Could all depend on how desperate they are for a/the job.

Yeah, that is always a strange one to me, I mean if my manager was interviewed for a job & he told the company he was moving to that they would have to sack the people currently there to allow him to bring in his own team of staff... wouldn’t happen would it? So why should football get to do it?
That could all work in Hartson’s favour though.

Kevin Thomson anyone?
He's the latest name to be linked
Also Liam Kelly looks like he is signing on a 2 year deal!
Welcome back LK!

I honestly didn't see LK as any sort of improvement on DJ so I have to say I'm not overly fussed if he was to come back or not.
I'm more interested in how having the last managers backroom team making all the current running as to who signs for the club and who gets new deals will impact on any possible candidates for the position.

I hate to say it but the longer we go without a manager whilst Martindale has full backing of the board to sign the players 'he' fancies the more it looks like we're looking for a puppet and not an actual manager.

I got Black Panther on blu Ray for Father’s Day along with a memento of my fatherhood, a couple of t-shirts, an “activity book for grown ups” & the latest Tremonti CD. Apart from that it’s been a pretty quiet day for me, what about you?

New manager in by next Monday, worth the wait, been there and done it in the SPFL and finished very high with a small budget on a few occasions.

Interesting... Jim Jeffries fits that description, only really struggled at Hearts when he had money to spend. Did wonders at Falkirk & Hearts on low budgets. However, I don’t think he’s had a job for a while, so I would be surprised if someone described him as “worth the wait”.
Bobby Williamson is another but again I wouldn’t describe him as “worth the wait”.

Neilson?

As I recall he skooshed the 2nd tier title on a low budget & finished 3rd in the top tier on a low budget but then only had another half season before heading south and not doing very well. So I wouldn’t categorise him as “been there & done it in the SPFL & finished very high on a few occasions” - two & a half good seasons doesn’t merit a “been there & done it” for me.
He does however fit the bill of a younger manager who may well be hungry to prove himself again.

Looks like Craig Halkett approves of proposed new manager. Has signed on for another season.
