Gary Holt was the name I heard rumoured today but I don’t think he fits agentx’s description

Rumour flying around Pie and Bovril that Tommy Wright is who AgentX is talking about, i'd be stunned if it is true though, it would be absolutely incredible.

Certainly fits the description - but would probably need compensation paid to Saints which might not be available

New manager in by next Monday, worth the wait, been there and done it in the SPFL and finished very high with a small budget on a few occasions. John Hughes?

I take it you are being ironic? You mean he wouldn't be welcomed back with open arms? lol!

I was thinking more of his track record not exactly matching the teaser from agentx- as for open arms... it’s a great Journey song

Well, if this morning's Daily Record is to be believed, it's Kenny Miller. Definitely doesn't match Agentx's teaser.

Assuming the story in the Record is accurate, it only goes to show that Agentx has about as much of a clue as the rest of us. Guesswork and gut feelings simply lead to rumours and speculation. If it really is Kenny Miller, then it’s clear he can still play an active part and score goals at this level. He’s super-fit and has a vast amount of experience in the top flight. Whether he can combine the two roles remains to be seen. I imagine Davie Martindale will have to be even more involved to make sure it all works. Whoever the real manager turns out to be, I will be getting right behind him for the difficult - and exciting - season ahead.

We might know something soon about the new Livingston Manager, but has anyone heard any news about the former manager, David Hopkin? I assumed when he left us that he had something lined up. That does not appear to have been the case. Anybody have any insight?
Coming back to Livingston?

Yeah, really is a big let down if it’s Miller after the teaser from agentx especially as he doesn’t fit the criteria suggested by the board, from what I read he wants to be the main centre forward; that tells me he has an ego which doesn’t gel with our dressing room ethos.
I’m not a big fan of player managers.

BBC Sport website - Livingston hope to announce former Rangers striker Kenny Miller as their new player-manager within the next 48 hours, BBC Scotland has learned.
Miller, 38, will meet the West Lothian club's board on Monday to finalise the deal, with a two-year contract on the table.

Ryan Hardie rejoins Livingston on season long loan welcome back to the Lions Ryan! 🦁🖤💛
Kenny Miller if appointed will be a great coup for the club player manager as well we would get Kenny's experience in the top flight!

Yeah...still not a fan of player managers. Both Lambert & Burchill found out pretty quick that they couldn’t make it work.
Also, the earlier report indicated Miller wants to keep playing & be first choice number 9... well if you ask me he needs to earn that right not demand it.
Delighted we have Hardie back though

Appointing Miller would be folly. Especially if he, as 'manager', would be expected, as Ward has intimated, to do whatever Martindale tells him to do.

News about new manager was due last Monday. All the reports say that negotiations are still going on. Obviously there is a wee snag somewhere in the negotiations with Kenny Miller. Might still fall apart?
Gary Holt anyone? - or is it to be NEXT Monday? Season is going to start soon. Players are already back for pre-season training. We must be relying heavily on David Martindale.

You reckon they'll cancel his loan deal then, cause it definitely is Miller being offered the job. Supposedly got clauses in the deal and he's having to mull over whether he's ok with them. The deadline is tomorrow and then we move onto the next candidate.

It’s all immaterial anyway. The club is run by Rankine with Martindale as his voice although Rankine is still at the club during the day directing the staff. I have experienced it with my own eyes.

It’s been a while since we heard that one. Wouldn’t be a proper summer without it being wheeled out again though.

Seems there could be a hitch. According to "The Scotsman", Livingston have given Miller a deadline. Two separate contracts as player and manager been drawn up. "Club is confident Miller will be unveiled today (Friday ) - or Monday". Hibs also interested in Miller as a player. There is a plan B. "However, the 38 year old remains very interested in taking his first step on the management ladder at such a high level."

Really not sure how I feel about Kenny Miller. I am buying a season ticket today to support the players and the club regardless, but for me Miller is not someone I would have wanted to see at the club.
He is undoubtedly had a good career as a player, he is hard-working and determined. He is also a rather unpleasant individual who has struggled to make an impact with The Rangers even when in the Championship. Hopefully he will not be a player, he really has nothing to offer there now.

Got mine & my lad’s today as well; not overly impressed but I was also unimpressed when they appointed Hoppy, so what do I know?
It will be interesting to see what style of play he goes for.

I can't honesty say that appointing Kenny Miller fills me with anything approaching confidence for the season ahead but I will back him and wish him all the best.
