So apparently Evans has been sacked and Collins has followed suit. STV LinkUnbelievable. Where do we go from here? |

Club statement."...Concerns over the stewardship of the club..." What a bizarre statement. We're fourth in the league, not far behind a Dunfermline side in apparent free fall, playing some beautiful football, and we sack our manager? Quite a bitter blow that both have left, it goes without saying, but Collins moreso as he was trying to instil a style of play which I reckon is what we need in the future. He also bigged us up at every opportunity which wasn't a bad thing. I'd be more concerned at the current board's stewardship of the club. Two managers depart under them in very dubious circumstances, and once again we're back to square one. At least Evans' appointment offered continuity in terms of personnel and style of play; will any new man coming in follow the same style of try and put across one completely different? From the outside, the whole situation would appear pretty shambolic.

There's more to this than meets the eye. We've had "generally acceptable results" on the park yet Evans is shown the door. The players not happy at doing 3 training sessions on one day this week and are apparently happy that Evans is gone (happy that Collins is gone too?). Unless there is clear transparency and supporters are told the truth (and not some cockamamie bland nonsense) then I can see some folk throwing the towel in. How many managers is that we've had now? I've not got enough fingers on my hands and toes. [shakes heed]  |

John Collins and Gareth Evans leave Livingston
John Collins and Gareth Evans have left First Division club Livingston with immediate effect.
Collins was director of football and resigned after Evans was told he would no longer be in charge of first team affairs at Almondvale.
Evans was part of John Hughes's backroom staff before he departed to manage Hartlepool last November.
And Collins joined Hughes at Livingston when the latter was appointed in February 2012.

JC had a reputation as a serial quitter - toys out the pram kinda guy. Couldn't say whether that was true or not though. The crux of this matter is just why was Evans shown the door. The fans, simply, must be told the truth. Anything less and we're being fobbed off, if you ask me.  The clubs options are, on the face of it, easy. Tell the fans the truth, or don't tell the fans the truth. |

Unlikely to get the truth officially tho, but it will get leaked always does & won't be long before Evans or Collins talks to the press.

I'm sure there's a reason, as unfathomable as it may be.
Was really looking forward to finishing this season on a high - still could obviously, but something like this can only be a cloud.
Sigh.

I'm in a similar position, and I reckon I'm not alone when I say that. A wee bit of transparency from the board would go a long way.
