According to the Sun, Darren Cole, Jordyn Sheerin and Keiran Gibbons have all left or been released Are these official? Not seen anything from the club or players twitters. Disappointed to see Gibbons go but you could tell Hopkin didnt like the boy.

You could also tell he wasn't a fan of Sheerin either.

Cole is no great loss
Gibbons looked OK but was not in Hopkin's plans, especially as he likes to buy midfielders for fun
Jordan is a loss though, as we are rapidly running out of striking options

I've got no ill feelings towards the guy, but he was not cut out for this level of football. Anybody heard any further about the Buchanan to St. Mirren rumour?

Any news about Sives, is he likely to go too with him being put out on loan same as Gibbons?
Wouldn't mind him staying as he is useful in attack with driving runs and can add goals from set pieces too. With all the defenders we've signed it may indicate him or/and Gordon will be leaving.

Ben Gordon officially off to St Mirren.
If we lose Buchanan now I'd be very worried.

It would largely depend on who we replaced him with. I was fairly confident that the squad relegated would have bounced back, not confident at all now.

I assume that we're well represented at the so-called 'Exit Trials' at Broadwood, where out-of-contract players are on show for clubs to assess. I also assume that the squad will be supplemented with trialists when it returns this week. Therefore, let's hope for some new faces in the coming days. It's only a fortnight before the first pre-season friendly.

Hope you are right because the squad at the moment is a long way short of challenging for promotion

Perhaps we have now found our correct level - based on our last couple of seasons, we are obviously not good enough for Championship football. Maybe over the next few years, we can take this opportunity to try and build confidence within the club, team and supporters and create a more solid foundation rather than spending money on an impossible and unrealistic dream. Remember, at present we still have a club to support and this is the most important thing not what division we are playing in.

Try telling that to the men who are investing their hard earned in the club. They want to be at the table where the big boys eat as the rewards are greater. As a fan, I want to see quality both in our team and those we play against. A few years of mediocrity in lower divisions does not wash.

We all want to see Livi playing at a higher level but sometimes we need to accept reality and not follow an impossible dream. How many owners over the past 10 years have promised supporters this and that and actually delivery only more misery. No sensible investor will invest their money and expect an immediate return - they should be looking at the medium. / longer term (5 years minimum). Yes, the new owners and most supporters would like to be at 'the table with the big boys' with bigger games but I would much prefer to be in a lower league and have a club to support if all goes pear shape again.

Apart from the goalkeeper from Broxburn Athletic, we do not appear to have made any signings since May22/23. I realise we cannot be signing somebody every day but we are little light up front for strikers. Maybe waiting to see who is available after Euro 16 ?

I have to say that I don't think our squad is looking too strong at the minute, so I'm hoping that there are a few more to come in - particularly strikers, as mentioned by ablert.
Alloa seem to be piecing together a decent squad having signed Longworth (the Stranraer striker who terrorised us in ET of the play off), and Jim Goodwin. Say what you like about Jim Goodwin, he's a good signing at this level of football.
