Good start to the pre season, Stenny 0-3 Livi.
First Half: Jamieson, Millen, Cole, Trialist, Longridge, Hippo, Trialist, Trialist, Gibbons, Buchanan, Sheerin
Second Half: Trialist, Cole, Sives, Gordon, Knox, Trialist, Currie, Pittman, Glen, White, Mullen
Millen had an assist and a goal, Buchanan also scored and assisted with a goal, Trialist scoring our opener.
Shaping up nicely, looking forward to the Pars game next where we'll probably give everyone a run out again before Burchill puts together his strongest 11 to start against Sociedad.

Lots of positives from this game. Trialist at centre back in the first half was very comfortable, Millen, Buchanan, longridge all had something, think Buchanan might pump a shed load of goals in for us. Trialist 22 played well too, good goal. With our players from last season (sives looked good, Jordan, Myles, and Pittman all still playing well), we might actually achieve something this season.

Hopefully we'll be challenging for a promotion play off place this season or at worse mid table with no off field dramas.

Went along with my grandson. Good afternoon out and a typical pre season friendly. Think the team in the first half played slightly better. Roll on the Pars

Summer gets shorter and shorter each year, or so it seems.

Is anyone at the match today in Broxburn? We can't make it due to family but good luck to the team.

Dire game of football ,Livi created a couple of chances in the whole game .The fifers were the better team and were unlucky DJ was in good form today ...4g pitch is awful ,really hope Livi don't go down this path .

Ah well didn't make the game today so looks like I didn't miss much. Looking forward to my first look at the team against Real Sociedad on Monday night. Noticed Cole and Gordon weren't playing, hope they were being saved for the Sociedad game and not injured.
Three pre season games played and yet to concede a goal, have a feeling that will change on Monday but still, good to see our defence doing well.

Agreed about the Pars being better this afternoon. Looked sharper and fitter too. Lots of disruption to the game. Hard to see any pattern to our play. Typical Livi chaos at the gates when they didn't bother to take down the £2 sign above one turnstile so everyone queued up there with 2 pound coins only to be told by the boy in there that it was actually a fiver.

There was more action watching the group of drunk Fifers fans getting horsed out by the stewards than on the pitch.

I handed over £4 for me & my grandson as it said £2 only to have to hand over a tenner for the 2 of us. The boy in the turnstile was very apologetic. I told him that was my pension gone for another week & he just laughed. in terms of the game we seemed off the pace & Pars looked a lot hungrier than Livi. Talbot being his usual self trying to cause a fight in a friendly.

It was advertised on our website & the Pars website as £5 entry for all. Then there was a later announcement for Disabled fans with carers getting free entry.

All quiet on the Motherwell game front, or so it would seem? Did anyone actually attend?

Well I was one of the few, and I mean a few that attended the big game. Mmmmmmmm, well where does one start. Highlights of the first half was the delivery men from dominoes pizza who turned up in mass to this vast crowd to feed them, I think the uptake was less than poor. And yes, we are buying from Dominoes by the looks of it then selling on at a margin, great idea in theory.
To the games itself, not dissimilar starting line up to what we have seen in the last two games, the bombscare returning to his form early in the first half when Motherwell had an early cross and the calamity in goal missed the cross by a mile falling flat down on the hallowed turf. Dont worry though we had more of the same in the second. Now I am trying to tell you all about the first half chances we created, just a moment, we had, no its coming back to me, there were, no definitely...none. Second half, worse than the first. Enough said.
First Motherwell goal, split our defence open like a very sharp knife going into Dairylee (not even butter)
Yes its a friendly, so we must not take anything out it, but the second half was a s dire as the first, as a Motherwell fan said at the end of the game, "you guys need a striker"
The worrying thing was for the last 20 minutes we played with 4 strikers, all of who did not create anything, however its a friendly, so harm done. However if we lose our next two competitive home games, I may not be so polite.

Not much to talk about for either team in the first half, although the picture misdemeanor paints is rather harsh on Livi. Wee Danny had a good move getting in behind them putting the ball across to Hippo, his shot was too tame but it still was a good bit of play to get a chance set up, big White had a snap shot from inside the box a bit earlier than that too. A few loose passes but on the whole first half we played ok.
2nd half we had another chance with Hippo kicking it over after some neat play in midfield and the ball eventually being played through to him, bit of composure there and we were up 1-0 but alas it wasn't to be. We then got caught in midfield with a ball from their keeper and think it was Pittman lost out in a challenge, then Motherwell hit us with a quick bit of direct play slicing right through us, and a clinical finish by Ainsworth. Bit disappointing as Motherwell hadn't looked like scoring up till then. Slack defending for their 2nd goal as we gave them too much space for Watt to run into and get a free shot at goal with nobody even trying to block his shot. Then we lost our shape a bit and were fortunate not to go 3 goals down as they hit the bar after a keystone cops moment from us at the back.
To sum it up we had a few decent moves and chances and did ok for most of the game but lost our goals with some poor defending from midfield back and clinical finishing from Motherwell.
Here is some, ahem, highlights:
