At last night's fans forum Mark Burchill mentioned that they were struggling to fund the player kit for the coming season. Last season the uptake of the player sponsorship was particularly poor; I'll stand corrected but I think only 4 or five of the players were sponsored.
With this in mind I intend to sponsor one of the first team squad players (the club can decide which) for the season
Anyone else fancy doing the same? New players coming in and training whilst wearing shirts with No 6; Ky Jacobs on the back really isn't on.

What are the costs for player sponsorship, just looked at the club website and I can't see anything other than Matchday Mascot.

Think it was around £200+ for that you got your name in the programme for the whole year and theoretically the (signed) shirt at the end of the season?
Don't tell the missus - I haven't mentioned it to her yet... as someone once said it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission....

The Trust pledged to help Mark with the kit from their funds last night Basil. I appreciate your sentiments regarding helping and by all means sponsor a player. However in my experience with the club that kind of money goes into the melting pot and you are never sure what it is being used for. That's why the Trust did not hand over any money to the club last season. It was decided that it was better to see it going to pay for named projects such as kit for the players. One of the Trust fundraisers is operating a Future Fund whereby fans set up a standing order for £5 a month. Half of what is raised each month is given as a prize to the winning number picked and the other half goes into funds to be used to help the club financially. In addition for each £1 handed over the Trust get 1 Livi FC share. Your missus would hardly notice. A form can be downloaded on the Trust website at - www.liviforlife.com/docs/FutureClubStandingOrder.pdf

How much is the players kit?
If it's less than a players wages then I'd suggest one less player on the books and problem solved.
Et voila!

How much is the players kit? Would have thought that they would have got them at cost from Football Nation wouldn't think it would cost much more that £150 per player with a 25 man squad would only be £3750 so not a massive expense in relevant terms

I don't think there's any issue with the club getting the player training kit. What Burchill said was they wanted more money to buy more training equipment - mannequins, cones etc
