The accusation of corruption has been ongoing for sometime now and actually extends to the Olympics also. When you think of how some finals have been allocated in the last 50 years you could say it went well back. For example some nations had near enough back to back tournaments, tournaments in countries that did not do football while others who had ready to stadia kept being knocked back must indicate measurements other than best bid have affected the decisions. Blater needs to go, the Russian and Qutar world cups need reallocated, corruption should not rule.

Which countries have "had near enough back to back tournaments"? 1930 Uruguay 1934 Italy 1938 France 1950 Brazil 1954 Switzerland 1958 Sweden 1962 Chile 1966 England 1970 Mexico 1974 West Germany 1978 Argentina 1982 Spain 1986 Mexico after Columbia pulled out at short notice 1990 Italy 1994 USA 1998 France 2002 S.Korea/Japan 2006 Germany 2010 South Africa 2014 Brazil
Only country that could be considered as "did not do football" is USA & the reason was to introduce the wider American public to the beautiful game which has taken off superbly since then, so job done there.
Don't get me wrong I am not defending FIFA which I think is corrupt to the core but if you are going to make accusations at least do it with real facts.
