Scottish starlet trains at Carrington ahead of proposed move to Manchester United

Livingston defender Coll Donaldson has been offered a trial with Manchester United after impressing scouts on recent reserve outings according to the clubs chief executive.

Donaldson, 17, has received his club’s blessing to go to England with such opportunities arising so rarely.

“Coll was watched by Manchester United in a couple of reserve games and Martin Ferguson (Chief Scout) wondered if they could have a look at him,” said Livingston chief executive Ged Nixon.

Doubt that we'll get anything for him.

Says a lot the fact he's not been in the first-team much (if at all) and has been picked up by Utd. The fact we've just given him the new deal will hopefully mean if he impresses, we'll be in for some dosh.

What chance though - to go down there and see what potential there is if he knuckles down. Even if a move doesn't come about here, it'll hopefully inspire him to continue working hard and realise he might very well have what it takes to get to the top.

Hopefully that's Livi getting it's act together so we benefit from the young talent that moves on down south.


Singing him till 2015 on Jan 17 and then down to Man U for a trial on Jan 25th. Clever.
