I'd suggest that Hartlepool are so far behind that it's a racing certainty they are going down and Hughes will be shown the door in the summer.

They were already goners before Hughes went down there which would make me think he's been told to plan for next season in the league below. Gives him plenty of time to try and mould a team that he thinks is capable of going straight back up.

You could never accuse Hartlepool United first-team coach John Hughes of seeking the easy way out.
When he arrived at Victoria Park in November, he inherited a seemingly sinking ship, with the club nine points adrift of safety and on the back of a 16-game winless streak.
It took another six games to end that, but since then Hughes has begun to work his magic, and three wins in the last five games are evidence of the Scotsman's impact.
