Keaghan Jacobs: Why Shakes Mashaba Should look at me for Bafana
South African born defender, Keaghan Jacobs has expressed his desire to play for Bafana Bafana and has also shared why coach Shakes Mashaba should take a look at him.
The 25-year-old, who was born in Johannesburg, currently plays his football in Scotland and is contracted to Scottish Championship side, Livingston FC.
Jacobs believes he would have a lot to offer for Mashaba and thinks his work rate is one of his best assets.
“Alright… One of my main strengths, I would say, is my energy on the field. I can run up and down the park throughout the game,” Jacobs said.
“I feel I’ve got a good range of passing and I’m very comfortable on the ball. My best position is central midfield, but I can play anywhere on the field where I can get involved in the play.”
The midfielder told Soccer Laduma that he follows the national team when he can, but revelled that games aren’t televised in Scotland.
“We don’t get to see any of the games this side, but I’ve got an App on my phone for all the scores so I follow the national team on my phone,” he added.
“Obviously my dad and my brothers keep me up to date about what happens in the games and that, when they watch the games back in South Africa.”
Jacobs has made 29 appearances for Livingston so far this season and has scored two goals, while assisting in a further six.
