Apparently there were about twenty or so volunteers down laying the covers on the park this morning - and half of them were Hearts fans. Great work!
I still hope we pump them, obviously. See you behind the goals.

It is looking like reasonable weather conditions for landing my Tardis in Livingston today.

A few scary moments first half today but even if we did not create much, thought we competed well against a team with superior quality players to ours. DJ to the rescue once again. The man has an amazing record with pens. Second half we showed a bit if fight and thought White and Mullen played out of their skins. Mullen could hardly walk towards the end. Thought it was more of a type of game for Robertson than McKenna who has not convinced me that he is good enough for this league. Looked good at the back with no rash challenges ( well maybe one or two) but could this be a turning point? 3 winnable games now coming up. C'mon the Lions

C'mon the Lions Felt we could have got something out of yesterday's game. Good concentration from DJ and hopefully can keep this going and cut out the silly mistakes he has been making in lots of games. Mensing solid, Rutherford improving all the time,Hippo was very good when he came on. As you say White and Mullen were playing out of their skins and these two if they keep on playing together like this and forming a good partnership will be so good for us the the near future. Great pressing from the whole team yesterday and we will get results soon.

With a bit of luck we might have grabbed a point! Just couldn't catch a break in front of goal. Kyle has struggled all season and yesterday was no exception. He gave away the penalty and was off the pace all afternoon. It's time young Beaumont was given his chance.

I actually thought that we competed pretty well for most of the game.
Hearts started off really strongly, but we had a decent shout for a penalty before their lad threw himself over for theirs, which resulted in another good save from DJ. He read their lads run up really well and got a good block in!
After the break if we had only managed to get bodies forward a bit quicker I think we'd have created more chances. They weren't quite hanging on at the end but their fans were getting edgy and a goal might have turned the game in our favour.
But that's all ifs, buts and maybe's. The record shows a another defeat and with other results not going our way, again, we really have a job on our hands to get off the bottom.
Need points, and soon!

Seeing the size of the crowd it is more galling how we threw away our best chance of promotion we had in the last couple of season chopping and changing managers and trying to cruise parts of the season or against certain teams. Then we look at where we are now and despite the great declarations of spend 99 when we get 100 we are rock bottom with a ground which is not fit for purpose and we have even lost ownership of the practice pitch. So we would have actually been better off spending 200 in every 100 and been relegated down for this season with a parachute payment. Anyway back to the game. Never thought we would win that our best outcome was a draw. Is it me or are we slow starters in games? If it was not for a great save we may have been one down even earlier. That save may have cost us dear with the number of scouts out at the game we may loose our keeper.....

For clarity I mean relegated from the spl not from the championship. The extended riches of Hibs and Hearts are telling. Even the team of the great over spend Rangers are finding it hard to compete. Viability for a wide a range of clubs will not be achieve able with out a more equal distribution of incomes. We have all fallen for the line that if teams can't attract supporters they should die...teams can only attract supporters in a modern world if there is a realistic chance of winning something. The young supporter wants instant success, there is no long game for them. So if we want 18 plus full time teams we need to share income or we risknow having no full time teams at all.

Will someone more expert than me explain how one incident was a penalty and the other was not? If my failing memory is still correct, to be able to block off a player the hearts defender needs to be able to control the ball?

Morning Livi fans. I am wondering if anyone at your club is aware Hearts fielded an ineligible player against you in the recent match. Gary Oliver came on as a sub for 30 minutes ( got booked too ) when he was actually a Stenhousemuir player until the transfer window opened on 1st January. The SPFL rules are very clear. Temporary transfers must continue until the opening of the next transfer window, but Hearts recalled the boy early and his registration was still with Stenhousemuir. I've seen Hearts are trying to argue it was in Oliver's loan contract that he could be recalled at any time. That may be true, but that would only allow the player to train with the Hearts squad and play in practice games, not play in competitive matches. SPFL Rule 76 applies ( The rules have been updated but the new rule number still shows the player was ineligible ) The SPFL have been silent on this up to now, but the docked your club 5 points for non-football infringements , so it is up to your club to claim the 3 points in that game. ( Celtic v Legia Warsaw good example ). It won't happen by itself, kick up a stink in the press and get your chairman to read the SPFL rules on temporary transfers and email Neil Doncaster. Its up to you ,if you think your club could use 3 extra points !

Nothing will happen if you don't raise the issue. The football authorities are a reactionary organisation, they will not act unless forced to do so by people willing to make a noise and demand answers.
Stay silent and your opportunity to get 3 points back from your deduction will be lost. Nobody is going to do it for you.

Your comment that Hearts have already argue their reasons why they believe the lad was eligible to play would suggest that the issue has already been raised with the SPFL, or have I read you wrong? What is clear though is that if they've fielded an ineligible player then they should be punished accordingly. Christ knows that Livi would!

This is very interesting. I can't recall the player in question but if rules have been broken then the incident needs to be looked at. I don't, however, think for one minute that we will benefit from this, even if Hearts are found to have acted 'illegally'.
