I thought we were marginally better yesterday under Burchill. He needs help from the board though to be allowed to sign someone that has goals in them for the last part of the season. We lacked a real cutting edge yesterday.
I see the ex company secretary was there in the directors box, but no Robert Wilson - has he bolted?
Fearful of how much football damage Hearts may do to an already fragile squad. Hopefully the football damage will be countered by the number of fans Hearts brings.

Looks like the Christmas spirit has brought out the keyboard warriors. I simply don't like Burchill as Livi manager. He has been part of 2 failed Livi managers teams already. He has got the job till end of the season, I just don't think he will do well and we will be relegated under him. I haven't called for his head I have stated my opinion. I won't change my view simply because others don't agree with it. Happy Sunday everyone, I am off for nice Sunday dinner with the family I share your concerns over Birchy and especially the fact that he has been number 2 to what could possibly be 2 off the worst managers that we have have ever had but what I saw yesterday concerned me even more and that was Hastings acting as his assistant! Hastings has been part of a backroom staff that has now seen off 3 managers and I cannot help but wonder just what part these 2 have played in the previous managers downfall and also the situation we now find our club in ? However like you, I will put my prejudices aside and support Birchy and the team! I raised my concerns over the appointment of Burk and got a keyboard kicking from the forum bullies but this a discussion forum for people who can and cannot attend games and if we all have exactly the same opinions there would be nothing to discuss! Well done for not dropping the warriors level and getting involved in a slagging match as is so easy to do and I am starting to wonder if some of these people would be more at home in North Korea

Why don't you give him a chance as the boss? so I hope you had a nice dinner with the family and come back on here being a wee bit more reasonable with your comments.

So come on then pal why is Burchill the man for the Livi job other than he was he cheap option by the current board (who many supporters believe don't have a clue) ? he has no real managerial experience other than working for what you could class as 2 failed Livi mangers? I am happy to be convinced he is the man. Ps Sunday dinner was great.

Most people learn by watching and immitating others. There is a naturalist behaviour inside also that makes us act as those around expect us to so that we fit in. These normalised behaviours will be the principle drivers of how Burchill will act as a manager. He will deal with issues and problems by referring to previous experience as he has observed so that is how he will react. He will do the same as the other managers. His personality may enable him to create better relationships. He may have stronger communication skills. But how he analysis es and create solutions to football issues will already be established by his previous managers. This is a problem. This problem is endemic in Scottish football. Managers do not know how to learn. In business vast sums are spent training managers in improvement techniques and change management. Dozens of academic papers are written every year on these topics, and a common theme is that of learning structures and learning communities. Football is stuck in single loop learning, it sees an effect and does more or less of the same thing to change that effect. The trouble is that when a business or a team is so misaligned from where it wants to be such single loop mentality makes the issue worse. This is where triple loop learning comes into play. It's not about doing things better to get different results but doing different things to get better results. The logic is that as all teams will be doing similar stuff and similar changes to improve it then it is only by doing different things that we can out perform them. So unless Burchill undergoes significant learning we will be relegated.

Read an article a while back about something called new manager syndrome and it said as a general rule when a new manager comes in results will usually improve significantly for the first 5 or 6 weeks (no matter how good or bad the manager is) before dropping back to previous levels. Must be down to players trying to impress I guess but it is looking like we may be an exception to the rule ?
