Peter Houston has announced he will be leaving in the summer after deciding not to extend his contract.
Bollan is out of work after leaving Livingston last year and, though he indicated his interest in the post, he expects there to be many candidates.
"It's a fantastic club. It's one of the biggest jobs in Scotland," Bollan told BBC Radio Scotland. I don't imagine he'll be top of their list for the job to be honest. Done a decent job with us but a team like United will feel like they should be fighting for second place in the SPL and I don't think Bollan has enough experience to take that on.

I think he was shafted by Livi, but the decision was taken so good luck to Bollan.
