Looking forward to it. Already got my ticket for it, having picked it up along with my season ticket. Looking forward to hopefully a big crowd from Livingston & Hearts. There's loads of Jambos from Livingston, and with it being a steal at £12 should encourage people through. I expect a Hearts win, but I think we can push them close if we up out game a little. Would like to see Mullen dropped for this one, and Hippolyte get a chance from the start.
Everyone has been ranting about this Sow lad, but vastly over rated. Can see him having an easy game v Fordyce though.

To be fair, Fordyce has improved a lot over the last year and the wee blip of confusion with DJ for the Hibs keepers goal was just one of these things. Did he batter you at school or something - you really don't like him! I do agree that I expect a Hearts win but if we get fired in about them and give as good as they clearly like to then we might not be too far away. Official site they have sold 3000 but no word on Livi crowd.

I don't like him as a footballer. I don't rate Sives, or Mensing atall but I'd have they two ahead of him every day of the week. Just doesn't look very good in all aspects of his game, and makes far too many mistakes, from what I've seen. I'm not going to lie, I don't rate Fordyce or Mullen atall. Only seem to play because we have no one else there and are forced to play since they are 'youth products'. Both way beyond any reasonable level, and Mullen scoring over shadows how shocking he was, again.
I got my ticket on Thursday and there was a good uptake. I can see the ground being atleast half full, but I think it's silly to make it all ticket. We should still have it pay at the gate. I know Hearts will be used to all ticket but we might be turning away fans that can go last minute.

On the point of 'improved alot'.....doesn't actually count for very much. You can go from being totally shocking, to just shocking but doesn't make you a capable footballer. Granted, improved, but personally, still don't think he's good enough for this level (for any team).

Sives targets 'bonus' win in cupCraig Sives, the Livingston defender, has acknowledged that positive results against Rangers, Hibernian or Hearts this season will be a "bonus" but is confident that his team can spring a surprise tomorrow against the Tynecastle side. Livingston host Hearts in the second round of the Petrofac Training Cup, with Sives eager to register an expected result against a team which has won three matches in a row. Indeed Hearts will travel on the back of a victory in the Edinburgh derby. www.heraldscotland.com/sport/football/sives-targets-bonus-win-in-cup.25083548?

Livingston boss John McGlynn insists he has nothing to prove against HeartsLivingston manager John McGlynn insists he has nothing to prove when he comes up against former club Hearts. McGlynn spent more than a decade at Tynecastle as a young coach before taking the reins with the first team in 2012 following a spell in charge of Raith Rovers. His tenure came to an end after just eight months as he departed following a run of poor form. Asked if he wanted to prove a point when Hearts visit the West Lothian side in Wednesday's Petrofac Training Cup tie, McGlynn said: “Not at all. Hearts were good to me over the two spells I had there. “I was there 11 years – three years part-time and eight years full-time – and when I went there as manager it was a great privilege. “I don’t think I’ve got anything to prove – I’m working for Livingston now and just trying to do the best I possibly can here.” sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/hearts/288874-livingston-boss-john-mcglynn-insists-he-has-nothing-to-prove-against-hearts/?

John McGlynn ‘surprised’ by Hearts team-sheetLivingstons Myles Hippolyte celebrates in spectacular style after putting his side 30 up. LIVINGSTON manager John McGlynn admitted he was “very, very surprised” to see a Hearts team-sheet that contained ten changes to the side that defeated Hibernian on Sunday. McGlynn’s team were convincing winners in the end in last night’s Petrofac Training Cup second round tie after Hearts head coach Robbie Neilson opted for a nearly complete shake-up. www.scotsman.com/sport/football/spfl-lower-divisions/john-mcglynn-surprised-by-hearts-team-sheet-1-3516199

Livingston 4-1 Hearts: Young Hearts flounderMichael McKenna of Livingston is tackled by Hearts' Angus Beith.Credit to a (very) young Hearts team because they did not completely crumble despite going behind as early as the seventh minute. But Livingston took full advantage of the decision by Hearts head coach Robbie Neilson to give youth a fling last night, running out easy winners by three goals in the end. There were five debutants in the Hearts starting line-up and three more made their first appearance for the Tynecastle side as substitutes in the second-half. Scorers: Livingston - White (6), (76), Hippolyte (81), Robertson (84); Hearts - Talbot (og 90) Might it be mischievous to suggest this was a satisfactory outcome for all concerned? Livingston progress to the last eight – the draw is made at Lesser Hampden today – and Hearts are left to fight other, more important battles. However, Neilson would prefer to have avoided conceding three goals late in the game. The visitors did manage a consolation strike when Jason Talbot put through his own goal in injury time. www.scotsman.com/sport/football/latest/livingston-4-1-hearts-young-hearts-flounder-1-3516140

Livingston 4 Hearts 1: First defeat for Robbie Neilson as Livingston romp to Petrofac Training Cup winJordan White celebrates his second goal of the eveningJORDAN White's double helped Livingston on the way to a 4-1 routing of Hearts in the Petrofac Training Cup. White set the tone when he struck home a loose ball from a corner in just the sixth minute. In the face of some strong pressure from the Jambos after the restart, Livi game themselves some breathing space thanks to White's second, which came after he nodded home Keaghan Jacobs' cross in the 76th minute. Myles Hippolyte made it three after 81 minutes courtesy of a fine solo goal and David Roberston put the icing on the cake three minutes later with a calm finish. Hearts did register at the death when Jason Talbot put through his own net, but their 100 per cent start to the season ended abruptly. www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-match-reports/livingston-4-hearts-1-first-4081623?

It was clear that Robbie Neilson and Craig Levein by fielding a team of no marks had no respect for the competition or us as opponents.
So it was especially pleasing to see us giving them a right good pumping, in the end.
Fantastic support for Hearts, it should be said. I'm sure that they'll be disappointed that their manager and Director of Football showed them total disdain with that team selection.

Neilson used the excuse to field youngsters as it was the cup, but in the previous round, at home, to lowly Annan, they fielded their strongest side...so to say what he did was so disrespectful of us. That's why I loved not only beating them, but pumping them. In saying that, Hearts had a few good players in their ranks.
The first should have seen a sending off, and a penalty given for Gary Glen getting punched in the face. Shocking from the ref.
I heard Jim Spence bumming up Danny Mullen. Unbelievable. He 'beats' players by falling over the ball and letting it hit off his legs and by falling over. The quicker we replace him with Hippolyte, the better. Infact, it would be best to keep him out the whole squad.
Gallagher, Fordyce, Burton, White & Glen played pretty well I though. Jason Talbot (bar the goal) was shocking. How he didn't come off, I'll never know. Rutherford looks very handy and hope he's given his chance. Talbot was out if position the while game, is awareness is shocking, there was no 'go' about him, and he doesn't actually know how to defend, or track runners. Even this early stage in the season, I hope he can find another club, as he is a waste of a jersey, even against wee laddies.
McKenna stepped his game up which was good to see. His first touch, and direct play has been pretty impressive, and he puts in a good shift. Hopefully he will keep progressing as the season goes on.

For a team of wee laddies, the Hearts boys were not bad; they were pressing hard for an equaliser for a spell in the 2nd half & DJ made 2 decent stops in the 1st half. That said we defended better than we have for a good few years; very disciplined & no rash challenges.
Good bravery from Glen on the 1st goal & good awareness & composed finish from White. Great marauding run up the wing by Kyle with a perfect cross onto White's napper for the 2nd. And as for The Hippo's contribution...superb goal followed by superb celly followed by superb assist; good finish from Robertson too for that matter.
It could be very different in the league matches but that was a game to savour.

The key in that game was weathering the storm after half-time. Hearts upped the pressure and looked likely to equalise but our boys defended well and as soon as we broke free and scored a second, it was game over.
Brilliant shift and a well deserved win!

Agreed LL21; we were excellent defensively in that period; at one point I was convinced it was a matter of time before the equaliser went in but the boys put the shutters up. Pity about the OG but at least it produced the song of the night "Shall we score a goal for you".
