Off field is a major distraction. Saw the pitch today and it is looking good.

First game of the season for me ,it'll be like watching a new team all over again ...not feeling overly confident so a narrow 2-1 win will do mon the Livi !!!

Livingston 2-1 Cowdenbeath: Win calms LiviLivingston striker Jordan White attracts the attentions of Thomas OBrien yesterday. Photograph: Neil Hanna PhotographyLIVINGSTON supporters found some respite at the end of another troubling week for the turbulent West Lothian club, writes Craig Fowler at Energy Assets Arena. Issued a notice of complaint last week for failing to disclose shareholder Neil Rankine’s apparent stakes in other SPFL clubs, Livingston were then handed a transfer embargo over allegations of illegal bonus payments. Unable to add to their squad, they should at least be assured that the side is good enough to keep them in the division, as this win suggests. Barring a sluggish first ten minutes, they were comfortable for most of the match and once they earned the lead it never looked like being relinquished. “We’ll not let the off-field issues affect them,” insisted manager John McGlynn. “We’re purely the football side of things and we’re just concentrating on the football. Getting the first three points is very important. It gives us a confidence boost going into the Hearts game. “We were just a bit too predictable in the first half, but we got a great reaction at the start of the second.” www.scotsman.com/sport/football/spfl-lower-divisions/livingston-2-1-cowdenbeath-win-calms-livi-1-3512036

Livingston 2-1 CowdenbeathLivingston claimed their first Scottish Championship win of the season as Cowdenbeath were made to wait for their first league victory. After a goal-less first half, Daniel Mullen calmly placed the ball past Thomas Flynn to put Livi ahead early in the second period. Keaghan Jacobs then set up Jordan White to fire the hosts' second. Cowden substitute Craig Sutherland laid on an easy finish for Lewis Milne but the goal proved only to be consolation. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28718610

A much improved second half with the only real disappointment when we kind of switched off right at the death for their consolation.
Glad we beat them because their fans do my nut in. Always moaning! Always swearing! Always angry!

Burton O’Brien hails win as key for Livingston’s targetJordan White celebrates his goal with Dechlan GallagherLivingston midfielder Burton O’Brien stressed Saturday’s triumph over Cowdenbeath was just the result required if the West Lothian club are to make any sort of impression at the top end of the Championship table this season. The Lions bounced back from an opening day defeat to Hibs to emerge with a 2-1 victory over the Blue Brazil at the Energy Assets Arena – a timely boost ahead of Wednesday night’s home showdown with Hearts in the second round of the Petrofac Training Cup. Second-half goals from
Danny Mullen and Jordan White – the first coming after just 27 seconds of the restart – gave John McGlynn’s men their first three points of the campaign, despite a late goal from the visitors, in rather unseasonal conditions. And it was seasoned professional O’Brien, in his second spell with the club having made his first appearance in 2002 before leaving for Sheffield Wednesday three years later, who provided his side with the composure to spark a spirited second-half display from the men in yellow-and-black. O’Brien, 33, said: “If we are going to have a decent season then these are the games we need to win. We found ourselves with a defeat last week despite a decent performance so first and foremost it was important we got the result. I thought we played well but we could have been a wee bit more clinical and we are obviously disappointed to lose the goal so late on. www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/livingston/burton-o-brien-hails-win-as-key-for-livingston-s-target-1-3512758

Yeah, thought so at the time but forgot about it until you mentioned it; unless one of the two defenders took the ball first which doesn't look likely in the video.
