So, as usual, we'll be leaving from the Stadium at 11am on the Friday morning. If you can all aim to be at the Stadium for no later than 10.45am though, that'd be ideal so we can get away for 11am. It's not the usual bus company this year so not sure how 'strict' our driver will be but nothing we can do about that. Given the final on the Friday night anyway, I don't imagine the bus down there will be quite as wild as previous years.
It takes just over 3 hours to get there so add in a stop halfway or roughly 45 minutes, we should be down in Preston for 3pm. We've to pick up the keys for the flats/rooms from the campus security office which is just round the corner from the Halls at 4pm. I'm hoping that if we just head there when we arrive around 3ish, they'll let us collect the keys at that point. If not, we can maybe use that hour to nip to a shop and pick up some water for the game and some bevvy for the rooms for afterwards.
We'll get the keys signed for and chuck our stuff into the rooms before jumping back on the bus with our boots and what not and aim to be back at the pitches for no later than 5pm. We'll get changed into the black kit in the changing rooms at the pitches and the game kicks off at 6.30pm. The game should be finished for around 8.15/8.30pm. I'm in the process of trying to get us 2 x 7 seaters and 2 x 4 seater taxis booked for after the game so they'll be waiting to take us back to the Halls as the bus dirver will have to clock off before we'll be finished the final - the taxis will work out at no more than £2 or £3 a head I think (that's what it was last year anyway).
Here's the room lists for this year. We've been allocated 5 flats - 53, 57, 58, 59 and 60. Flats 53 and 59 have 5 rooms, the other 3 have 4 rooms. Obviously in the flats, the rooms are number 1 to 4 (or 1 to 5). The number you've been allocated is the room you must stay in/put your stuff in. The Uni are being a bit stricter this year in terms of who's staying where so make sure you take note just now of what flat you're in and what room number is yours.
Flat 53 (5 rooms) - 1. Kevin Greenan. 2. Mark McGinty. 3. Jordan McAlpine. 4. Stuart Heggie. 5. Callum McKinven.
Flat 57 (4 rooms) - 1. Darren Keith. 2. Graham Yorke. 3. Darren O'Neill. 4. Scott Munro.
Flat 58 (4 rooms) - 1. Scott Johnston. 2. Dave Black. 3. Richie Kay. 4. Darryll Butler.
Flat 59 (5 rooms) - 1. Wullie McDonald. 2. Dougie Shaw. 3. Craig Bowman. 4. Dean Bremner. 5. Andy Crawford.
Flat 60 (4 rooms) - 1. Paul Miller. 2. Richard Harrison. 3. Tom Cheeseman. 4. Stephen Lyon.
Once we get back to the Halls, we can all get washed and changed then head out on the town.
On the Saturday morning, we have to register no later than one hour before our first kick off so we need to be there for before 10am. With that in mind, the plan will be to leave the Halls at 9.30am on the Sat morning, get there for 9.45am and we can get registered and leaves a bit of time to get some breakfast down us before our first game.
Our schedule for the Saturday is -
11am - AFC Chorley
1.15pm - Man Utd
2.45pm - KaisAyr
We'll be in the yellow kit all day on the Saturday as that means we'll definitely not clash with anyone that we're playing.
After our last game is finished, we'll maybe grab a beer at the pitches if folk fancy then head on the bus back to the Halls where we can get washed, changed and boys can hit the bevvy in their rooms or crash out for a couple hours before we head out again on the Saturday night.
Just have to play it by ear on the Sunday. We won't know who we're playing or when until the Saturday night but we need to be out of the Halls for 10am either way. So it'll be up on the Sunday, everything out the rooms and on to the bus and head to the pitches for our first game and see how it goes from there. Once we're knocked out/win it, we can get washed if folk want and then just head onto the bus and back up the road.
For those who haven't been before, there's a burger van and a cafe type building at the pitches and both are open all day on the Saturday and Sunday for food and drinks.
I think that covers everything really.
Mark has the yellow kits, Chris Love has the black kits, footballs and subs jackets and Sav has the medibag. I'll aim to have this all passed to me and topped up before we go.
If I remember anything else, I'll fire it up. Any questions, get in touch. Cheers.
