According to his own Twitter page, he's signed for us. "@davidrobbo12: Really happy to have signed for @livifcofficial last week, can't wait for next season should be a great league and challenge" He's from Livingston originally and played for Dundee Utd, St Johnstone & Morton. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Robertson_(footballer_born_1986)

How can we afford guys like this? I thought the said owners said they are skint? As long as theyre not putting more debt into the club then its okay.

His Dad who is called Dougie Robertson ex Rangers and Morton Player works for mates company he (Dougie)also doubles up as his sons agent, he confirmed a few weeks ago that his son had been approached by LFC, unsure of salary scale yet, but from what my mate has been told he got "some deal" at LFC!!

That's interesting info! Thanks! Would be good to hear some more but I can't think we'll be doing anyone deals that would break the bank or else theyd break the club!

The SPFL website running the story that Robertson has signed too but no official word from Livi as of yet. spfl.co.uk/news/article/livingston-land-robertson/Apparently he has signed a contract with us but due to paperwork issues, the deal cannot be officially finalised until June 23rd.

I wonder if that's the same sort of 'paperwork issue' which meant Calum Elliot ended up at Raith Rovers last season? Strange that the club would choose to keep it quiet just nwo but the player has went ahead and announced it himself and the SPFL website doing likewise. Hopefully it all gets sorted come the 23rd then!

Sky Sports have reported it too - would be a decent signing though he has been a bit injury-prone of late, think that was the only reason St Johnstone let him go!

I used to play with David back when he was a lad. Had a lot of promise as a youngster, but I don't think he's been the same player since he broke his leg a few years back. Funnily enough, if memory serves me right, he was training at Livingston many years ago, but they either turned him down, or Dundee Utd was too big a club to knock back. Played in the same West Lothian team as ex livi, Martin Scott, and Scott Boyd. Hopefully able to pick up his form from when he was at Dundee Utd. Feel that it'll be another jimmy though, does OK but doesn't produce that much.
