Marc McNulty says he will relish the opportunity to test himself in Sky Bet League One next season.
The 21-year-old, who joined the Blades for an undisclosed fee from Livingston on Monday, acknowledges that their will be an expectation on him from the terraces after he scored 19 goals in 39 appearances for Livi last term, but it is something McNulty is keen to take it in his stride.
He remarked: "I expect there will be pressure on me to score goals from the supporters, but I am confident I can handle the challenge.
"This is a big step up for me, but to further your career you have to move on to the next level and prove yourself, now I have that chance.
"I am a confident finisher, but hopefully there will be numerous chances created in most matches. I put a lot of pressure on myself anyway so I am coming here determined to prove my ability."
Sheffield United: Marc and Stefan renew their double-act
Marc McNulty is looking forward to resurrecting his partnership with Stefan Scougall next season.
The Sheffield United striker, whose transfer from Livingston was officially announced earlier this week, played alongside Scougall at Almondvale Stadium before the latter joined Nigel Clough’s side last term.
Revealing how the Scotland under-21 international’s success since arriving in England helped pave the way for his own move south, McNulty said: “I am very good friends with Scougs and he knows my game inside out. The same way I do his.
“He’s someone I have know since I was a young boy and he has nothing but good things to say about Sheffield United.
“We’ve always kept in touch and spoke on a regular basis even after he left. He kept telling me how he’s loving every minute of being here and hearing such positive comments made my decision even easier.”
McNulty and Scougall scored a combined total of 21 goals for Livingston last season.
