www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/official-who-urged-lescott-to-applaud-62-city-fans-axed-from-fa-cup-duty-8451583.htmlCan't quite believe this. So the line-o, who's obviously very much in touch with reality, reminds the Man City players to go over and applaud the City fans after they were made to pay £62 for a ticket and for doing so, he's been binned for his next game by the FA. Unbelievable. It is not clear exactly why PGMOL managing director Mike Riley has taken such issue with Brooks' comments to Lescott after the game. Certainly the pricing of Premier League tickets has become a major issue over the last few days and it is possible that the League regarded Brooks' comments as reflecting badly on them. I don't think it made anyone look bad, infact, I think it went a long way in showing that the refs/linesman are more human than folk tend to remember.

That's terrible for the lino!
Pretty poor too that Lescott had to be encouraged to go over and thank the fans in the first place though.
