Local lad Darren Jamieson put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension that will see him stay at the Energy Assets Arena until 2017 —and admitted he could not be happier.
The 22-year-old lifelong Livi fan said he was delighted at ensuring he remained at home for the next couple of years.
Jamieson has been a star performer for the Lions this season and finally got his chance to claim the No?1 jersey after signing professional terms in July 2008.
He said“It’s definitely a good thing to know I’m going to keep playing here for the next few years.
“Hopefully I’ll keep getting picked in the first team and help us reach the highest level we can.”
Jamieson, a one-time season ticket holder prior to signing for the club, admits playing in front of the Livi faithful is a dream come true.
“I’ve got a picture of me in the crowd during the Paul Lambert era,” added Jamieson.
“It’s terrific to be part of the team I supported as a child.
“I was a season-ticket holder for three or four years and I was at the League Cup Final in 2004. It still feels a bit surreal to be playing for Livingston to be honest, but it’s great.”
Livingston have been handed a major boost with goalkeeper Darren Jamieson agreeing an extended contract with the club until the end of the 2016/ 17 season.
The 22-year-old, product of Livi’s youth system, was already contracted until May 2015 however he has agreed to extend that for another two years after establishing himself as the Lions first choice shot-stopper this season.
Manager John McGlynn said: “I am delighted that Darren has committed to the club for a longer period. He has had a good season and everyone is hoping that continues throughout this new deal.”
