WHAT A HORRIBLE DAY for football.
Still.. a resolute performance in rotten conditions. Everyone worked hard, tracked where and when they could and with more luck ( and but for a couple of cracking saves ) - we could have had another 3 or 4 goals.
Donkey First. Captain Crash. Who else.
MoTM - It's actually a pretty hard call. I thought Jordo had good safe hands ( especially given how greasy that ball became ) which gave the defence a lot of confidence. Daryl and Daz worked hard in midfield. Daz K and Paul M as usual with tremendous shifts up and down the wings all day. Dave was relentless, despite not seeing as much of the ball as he's used to.
I'll go for Daryl. Asked to play a position that he's not played ( for us ) before. Stayed calm, worked hard and got stuck in as well as grabbing himself a goal.

That was horrific. My boots were still wet this morning. That was without doubt one of the best showers I've ever had, despite there being balls and lad-ass all over the place.
MOTM - Bowman for me. Looked for the ball at every opportunity, made the most of it when he got it carrying it forward and always looking to make something happen. Some great passing too, a couple of beauties down the line. Did well in defence, breaking up most things that came down their left hand side. Great stuff.
Donkey - I liked the pinpoint pass that was made to Munro by Joe I think, only for Munro to just head it straight out as if he was defending. Looked intentional to me. Donkey for Munro.

One of those games that, given the conditions and the fact we were without 2 or 3 guys who would usually start if fit/available, it was all about just getting the win and 3 points on the board.
MotM - Bowman just edges it from Darryll and DazK for me. Easily his best game for us yet. Another mention to DCP for another big shift upfront. Credit to DazK too for chasing down the 'keeper until he submitted and let you score - good stuff.
Donkey - Sealed before we'd even left the Stadium. Car crash Johnston.

Try standing in the pissing rain watching it all!
Good result and goes along way to show the strength in depth we have now. We can afford to have a good few players out and still dominate games. Not much else to be said, we got the job done.
MotM: Thought DCP was cracking again, holding the ball up and getting so many others around him involved. Good effort mate. Will give MoTM to Bowman though. Almost flawless performance. Never let his man get the better of him and very composed on the ball. Thought Heggie done very well when he came on also.
Donkey: Well in Scudge

Will say that we need to look up faster. Too often that extra touch was putting us in trouble.
See a free man - pass it on - ask for it back. You'll get it more often thatn not. All it does is give you time to see your space, have your man chase the ball and free you up.. instead of having to hold off a couple players and limit what you can then do with the ball.
I like that people want the ball.. its great to see that no-one is shying away.. but lets make it easy on ourselves.

Genuinely still not had a heat in me since Saturday, my right hand is still thawing out.. MotM - lot of really good performances on sat considering we were missing a few regulars and it was our first match without the gaffer. Thought Danny put in another good shift but had a tendency to hold on to the ball for too long, Daz Keith never stopped running as per. Darryll had a good game considering he never plays centre mid.. But I'll go with bowman too. Never gets a lot of credit, just turns up does his job and goes home. Thought he played particularly well though well done bud! Donkey - could go for the easy option here with scudge but I'm giving mine to Dave this week, for slipping on to his a**e when one on one with the keeper, then the next half trying to chip him an placing it firmly in to his hands! Scudge a very close second though.
