Big game on Saturday in terms of keeping a push on for one of the top four places.
Given the poor start we had, it's mad to see that Falkirk are only one point ahead of us. Just shows what a wee run of picking up points can do in this league.
They scooshed to an easy win against us at Almondvale but that's when we were still without Scougall, Jacobs and O'Brien plus McNulty limped off after 15 minutes or so. They've now went on a wee run of only one win in their last five games so we're possibly going into the game as the form side, despite the Raith result.
Assume Denholm will be suspended but hopefully Barrowman will be fit and back in to partner Sparky upfront with Scougall, O'Brien, Jacobs and either Scott or Wilkie in midfield.
We need to improve our away record (1 win and 4 losses) and hopefully it starts this weekend. A draw wouldn't be a bad result given we go into a run of three winnable games. The win against Dundee showed the fight we have and we battled bravely with 10 men for a long time away to Raith.
We've got the makings of a good team but just need to be a bit more direct going forward - can't help but feel we slow ourselves down too much when attacking. Dycey, Scougall and O'Brien have all been guilty of it at times - a lot of our play goes sideways and allows teams to get their shape back rather than trying to play forward and catch them out.
Looking forward to it after a weekend without a Livi fix!

We're in a much better position on the field than we were when they turned us over at Almondvale. Seeing that Falkirk recently lost to Dumbarton and drew with Alloa would make me think they've fell out of form a bit and could be there for the taking. I wasn't particularly impressed with Dumbarton when we went there and if they can pick up a result at the Falkirk Stadium then I'm confident we can!
Would be good to have big Barrowman back to ease the burden on Sparky and hopefully we take the game to them and get a result. Loy and Roberts have scored a fair few between them too so Mensing and Coll will need to be on top form to keep tabs on them.
I'll go for a 3-2 Livi win! Come on the Livi!

See that both Mcnulty and barrowman are doubtful for this one. Thats a worry because it only really leaves us with burchil, lander and mullen. Wouldnt mind seeing burchill and lander paired together though as burchills pace might work well with the lander going for the flick ons.
Tough place to go at the best of times without missing our two main strikers but hopefully other players can come in and we can get the goals to get a good win.

See that both Mcnulty and barrowman are doubtful for this one. That would be a real blow if we're missing those two. If we are though, I reckon we'd be more likely to see Burchill upfront himself with Jimmy Scott just behind then a midfield 4 of Wilkie, Scougall, O'Brien and Jacobs. I liked the look of Burchill when he came on against Cowdenbeath and his pace could cause a bit of bother to Falkirk. They might well have based their set-up tomorrow on us playing McNulty and Barrowman so being forced to mix it up could actually work in our favour?! Either way, still looking forward to the game - COLTS.

Ooh, I must say that I never saw that one coming. A right proper drubbing and make no mistake. 2nd to every ball. Lots of players posted missing. "Rubbish" was a word I heard to describe our performance this afternoon and who am I to disagree?

The highlights don't show the half of it. Too many players not at the races. Yet another day to forget.

I think Coll going off was a big factor. We never really settled after that and players lost their way when the personel was chooped and changed. Before he went off, Coll had actually got down the wing well and was doing a cracking job at the back so that was a real shame.
Our next three league games are all big ones and we've got to be realistically aiming for a minimum of 7 points from 9.

Felt at one point they'd rattle in 6 or 7 but at 4 they eased up and that allowed us a bit of breathing space and the chance to see more of the ball.
Coll going off disrupted us completely as we were never at the races due to the enforced reshuffle.
We still really struggle against the full time teams in this league and that's a worry.

But I think he got injured stupidly with that tackle that he didn't need to make in the middle of the pitch. It's a pity the highlights don't show the tackle as the game turned after that so it's a big part of the game.

Playing football on plastic pitches requires a different type of game. Hitting long balls into channels hoping for it to hold does not work, its all about accuracy and judgement of pass and correct ball receiving techniques. That we played so bad on a surface we should be well used to is puzzling. I saw a lot of players too square on and with weight on the wrong foot and too many balls hit without sympathy for the receiver. A poor show as Fa;kirk are in as much transition as we are.
