Only Monday and I'm already looking forward to the football on Saturday after a weekend without a game.
We'd picked up a wee bit of form before going to Hamilton but that one was always going to be tough given the start they've had. Hopefully the boys can put that game to one side and continue from where we left off after the last home game.
I think Alloa may have surprised quite a few folk having picked up 14 points from the first quarter of the season. They weren't the best of sides when we played them at their place and had it not been for the woodwork, we'd have came away with something but they've been doing enough to get points on board so fair play to them. They're unbeaten in three coming into this one and that includes a win against Hamilton and a draw against Falkirk - tough games to pick up points in.
See another thread saying we played a friendly at the weekend with Scougs and Sparky grabbing 5 goals between them so hopefully that'll give the pair a wee confidence boost coming into this game.
Wonder if Talbot will come back into the starting team ahead of McDonald? I wouldn'd mind seeing Denholm given a start too. I've liked the look of him when I've seen him but it's only really been bit part so far.
Fancy us to win this one by the odd goal.

It would be good to put one over the bearded man in their dugout. He's too full of himself by half. Hopefully Sparky and Burchill are fit and we can put a few past them. They're part time, are they not? We should be brushing outfits like this aside with ease!

Is being part-time that big a difference? You could have a team of part-time players who are all better than a team of full-time players surely?
A win would be a big step in the right direction for us but it won't come easy as they've picked up good resutls and against some of the the tougher teams. Hopefully the ref is a bit fairer this time round and we finish the game with 11 on the park.
Burchill looked to add a bit of pace when he came on against Hamilton - would be good to see him get a start and hopefully add to his goal againt Cowdenbeath.

I just hope that our fans are more than 700 like the last home game. We'll be there, as usual, anyway.

Brilliant to get the win. We definitely deserved it but looked like we were going to throw two points away at the death. I still think that we deserved at least a point at their place back on the first day so nicking a last gasp winner here is a bit of justice for that.
I've been a big fan of O'Brien in both his spells here but I'm starting to wonder whether he's adding much to the side. We're almost playing 5 at the back when he plays because he sits so deep - infact a lot of the time there's defenders further up the park. He does add a sense of calm to the team when on the ball but every pass seems to go sideways and I don't think he's had a shot at goal since he returned. With that lack of directness, I wonder if we'd be more threatening going forward with a more attack minded player in his place?
Thought Talbot looked good on his return - great to see him flying up the wing and getting a shot away too. Hoping that Scougall's goal will lift his confidence and he'll start finding the net more regularly. I was keen to see Denholm given a start and although he had to make do with coming on a sub, I think he showed that he offers a different option going forward - someone willing to get his head down and take players on. He looks the sort who, given a run in the team, could ahve fans on the edge of their seat.
A big win as we now go into two tough games against Dundee and Raith - I'd be happy with draws in both.
