Does any one know if the astroturf pitch behind the east stand is available to the public to hire on week nights or is it only used by livingston fc teams?

I believe that anyone can book the pitch although I couldn't say how much it is though. Best to contact the club on that one.  |

It can definitely be booked but the Livi youth sides, obviously, have priority.
It's starting to get a bit tatty now mind you and there's no showering facilities for afterwards. I wonder if it'll be replaced or if we're more likely to see the main pitch becoming artificial and the fieldturf eventually being demolished? Can only assume that more and more teams will start to stick down artificial main pitches to try and keep games going ahead through the winter and increase revenue on midweek evenings.

They use the fake grass pitches at the top level in some countries - infact I'm sure the last time England played away to Russia, it was an artificial pitch?
No idea what sort of cost would be involved in the initial period of laying the new pitch ad what not but surely the revenue brought in through hiring it out and not losing games in the winter would cover it over a certain period of time?
