If we keep the same form as we did in the second half against Dumbarton then I think it will be a good game

We're going to get well beaten, unfortunately.
What we need to do is realise that they are a better team than us and to play to our strengths whenever we can.
Don't let the heads go down if we go behind and keep at them for the full 90 minutes.
The defence and midfield will need to retain their shape and composure and get the ball forward quickly when the ball breaks to us.
I'd say 2 or 3 nil to them but wouldn't count out us scoring one, possibly two, goals if they drop their guard.

This time last week I wouldn't have been very confident at all but after getting that win on Saturday then seeing Morton do the business away to Celtic last night, I'll be going down to the 'Vale tonight hoping to see another cup shock.
McNulty and Barrowman are a handful for any team and I fully expect them to give the Motherwell backline a tough time tonight. If Keaghan Jacobs is fit to start then him in midfield alongside Scougall, O'Brien and Jimmy Scott makes us really strong in there too. Mensing will relish the battle with John Sutton too.
Like Gizmo says, if we do go a goal down, the guys need to keep their head up because an equaliser can put you on the front foot and help you push on.
Looking forward to it - come on the Livi!

Think it might depend on whether Talbot and Fordyce are fit for us. If both of those two miss out and we're left with a makeshift backline then we could be struggling.
I think Motherwell still have Keith Lasley sitting in behind their midfield - if so, Scougall is more than capable of giving him the run around.
Hopefully we give them a good game and do the business on penalties!

I quite enjoyed the game last night and would probably say 2-1 was a fair reflection of the game. I didn't really think Motherwell were up to much in all honesty but they did start to control more of the game in the second half.
We made a couple of good openings for ourselves in the first half but poor finishing meant they came to nothing. Disappointing to concede so easily from a corner for the Motherwell opener. Didn't think Donaldson and Talbot were at the races and another moment of stupidity from Talbot has probably gone on to cost us getting back into the game. They didn't take long to go down the park, exploit the left back position and go 2-0 up. It really is a worry that he constantly looks like a red card waiting to happen.
Good to see us keep fighting and as scrappy as it was, the goal meant there was a bit of squeaky bum time for Motherwell but 3 minutes wasn't enough.
A decent showing against a top tier side. I thought Jimmy Scott was easily our best player - possibly a case of his SPL experience showing through but he definitely looked more composed and better on the ball last night than he has done any other time this season.
It would have been nice to be in the hat this afternoon but the odds were always stacked against us. Heads up and continue the recent performances into the Cowdenbeath game on Saturday and get ourselves off the bottom of the table.

Also, credit where it's due - the guys down the North end of the West Stand were brilliant throughout. Helped create a decent wee bit of atmosphere even after Mothewell grabbed their second.
Likewise, despite their recent bad press, the Motherwell fans put on a decent display too and made the most noise I've heard in the away end for a long, long time.

Overall a fairly competent display by our boys last night. Agree that Talbot is a liability and sunk our chances but young Denholm did look sharp and fresh when he came on - was well placed to knock the ball in for our late consolation too. Got to say - the Well fans were pretty amazing last night. Non stop noise and it really did help make the game feel like a big occasion. No offence intended but the odd time you heard the so called Mafia lot up the other end they sounded all out of tune and sync. A bit cheeky of the noisy well fans to laugh at the Livi drummers though. No need!

As much as I can respect the noise, I cannot respect the rush of their spectators towards our home stand. We can pass this off as silly wee laddies but what if some of ours reacted to that provocation? Other clubs have invested in wide banners that assist the stewards with segregation, we seem to have lost ours that we had in the SPL. I am sure our stewards would have done a better job if they had these. If we have ambitions of higher status we should buy these. I was a little disappointed with the number sharing the West stand, we should have more home support by now with the years we have been in Livingston. It was good not having to pay £18 to get in and had hoped many more would have tried the product at the reduced price.

I didn't see the rush on the stewards but I wouldn't have actually have thought it was a serious effort to confront Livi fans in the main stand, surely?
Anyway, yes the Well fans were quite excellent all evening. What a noise!
Agree that Talbot getting himself sent off finished the game off for us but overall I thought that McGlynn had set the lads out to compete rather than to defend and that was good to see.
A crowd of only 1666? I would have thought that Well brought more than that themselves?

A really good effort from the boys against last season's SPL runners-up, it was a testament to their performance that Motherwell rarely looked like such a successful side. Unfortunately our finishing was really poor so the chances that we did create ended up going to waste.
I'd like to see the red card challenge again as, although it did look a wee bit two-footed, it didn't look particularly reckless or dangerous. However I do agree that it was a challenge he probably didn't need to make with Motherwell only about 20 yards from their own goal at the time.
Overall I was pretty content with what I saw and certainly feel that, against a poorer side such as Cowdenbeath on Saturday, we could rack up a few goals, providing we've got our shooting boots on!
