Gala Faiydean Rovers v Livingston
Wednesday 4th September
Gala Faiydean Rovers take a break from the rigours of Lowland League Football this Wednesday evening (September 4th) to welcome Livingston FC from the SPFL in a friendly match at Netherdale.
The Lion’s have promised to send a strong squad containing many first team players in what is sure to be a stiff test for Steven Noble’s young Gala side.
Steven said;
"Tonight we face Livingston’s first team in what will be an exciting night for the Gala Fairydean Rovers FC players, committee and supporters. We hope that we can give a good account of ourselves against such strong opposition. It is a chance for us to give the whole squad a good run out and provides us with a great fitness exercise. We also hope it will give our younger players an opportunity to see how players and teams at the higher levels conduct themselves and play the game. It will be a tremendous learning experience all round."
Fresh from securing their fist away point of the season at Stirling, the Fairydean Rovers will be looking to give a run out to new signing Nicholas Rogers from Peebles as well as giving the prolific trio of Sean Paliczka, Jamie Gibson and Stuart Noble an opportunity to test the Livingston defence.
Also on show will be Galashiels youngster David Bonnar who is currently at Netherdale on loan from Livingston. Steven Noble said;
“We are grateful to Livingston for allowing us to secure David Bonnar on a season long loan. David has been a fantastic acquisition for our squad and although he’s not long turned 17, I’m convinced he will go far as a professional footballer. His work ethic, energy, desire and not forgetting his footballing ability will take him far and he has done a fantastic job for us in every game he has played.”
Entry to the game is £5 for adults with accompanying children (under 16) being admitted for free and £2 for concessions.
Kick off is 7.30 pm and a special edition souvenir programme will be on sale at the club priced at £2.
