Surprised not to see one up here already but here goes...
Obviously Airdrie were not in the best of shape but we played some sharp football and scored some really nice goals. We played the ball about nicely and probably all you could ask for in a league opener (bar the non clean sheet)
Last season we drew 4-4 and won 3-2 so to win 6-1 is already an improvement on last season. Keep up that kind of improvement and I think we might do alright ;-)
Nobody had a poor game IMO, solid performances all over the park and in particular from Jordan and the guys at the back. Subs were very good when they came on, in particular Dougie, Bowman and Daz O. Nice first half hatty from Daddy Kay also. Well in lads.
MoTM: Between Scudge and Chris Love for me. Both playing out of position but both solid. Great to see versatility. Well in lads.
Donkey: Yorkies miss was wonderful but well done Mutter, you are on your way to picking up another donkey furry face next summer!
Keep it going lads...

Good win.
Harder second half as Airdrie had nothing more to lose to just pumped bodies forward.. nice to see it out safely though with no major scares. Credit to Jordo for a couple good touches over the bar and one good 1v1 block.
MotM: Chris Love. mostly held his position well, was calm on the ball and did supported up the line also. Considering an unusual position for him, could only be expected to be caught out a couple times.. but no better game to learn in that one where you can afford to make the mistakes. Well done.
Donkey. Mutter.
been 'Ronaldoing' free kicks and pens for the last 7 months in warm up.. then gets to take one in a game and hits it like he was scared he was gonna hurt it.. unlucky man..
Additional credit to Tich for controlling a jobby covered ball with his chest. Least it wasn't a header, mate.

Solid performances from the full squad on Saturday. If I'd put my boots on the right feet and not had 15 beers splashing about in my gut, we'd probably have had a few more so apologies for that.
The Airdrie lads very obviously didn't want to be playing football on Saturday morning but credit where it's due, we done our job and made sure the game was over at half-time. Meant all the subs could get on without worrying about disrupting the game and players were able to try an extra touch here or a bit of something different there and not have to worry too much about it costing us.
Our backline seems to change on a week by week basis - such is the nature of the league - but you never seem to notice it too much when the game gets underway as everyone always does a job capably. Wee bit of a switch off for their goal but when we were dominating so much going forward, was always going to be hard not to get caught out. Good shift not concede a second in the second half.
Midfield men controlled the game too - Yorkie and Paul's pace on the wings was superb and the Tom/Richie double act in the middle will almost always win us games. Richie's attacking and Tom's covering makes us so strong in there. Usual story from Tich too - dropped in when needed, created things going forward and grabbed a goal.
Great to see the subs coming on and the level of our play not dropping - Bowman and Daz kept things flowing in the midfield nicely.
MotM - Agree with Mark entirely - got to be Chris this week. Think that's left back, left mid, right mid, centre mid and upfront Chris has played for us now and slots into any of those positions easily. Defended well, listened, talked and got up the line when the opportunity was there. Good shift. Special mention to Richie too for the hatty - would usually get my vote for that alone but since two were pens, Chris steals it.
Donkey - Mutter's penalty was a shocker but still, he was 12 yards out and had the 'keeper to beat. Yorkie was on the line with an open goal and managed to roll it wide. Heeeehawwwww!

Most points have been covered already so I'll crack on. MoTM - Chris Love. As is usually the case when a midfielder steps down into defence Chris was always wanting/looking for the ball and making space for himself to give a option for the pass. Superb shift, can't remmeber him putting a foot wrong. Donkey - Yorkie. The fastest thing on 2 legs without a right foot

MotM - Agree with everything being said here, most folk don't seem to realise the shift Chris puts in regardless of where he is, he's good going forward and coming back (eventually) and plays consistently well wherever he's asked to play.
Donkey - Mutter mate your really trying your hardest to secure this early on aren't you?

Cheers lads, nice to be recognised.
Quite enjoyed that position but to be honest i'll play anywhere. Not really fussed. Its a team effort and if we're short in a specific area, everyone should be more than willing to put a shift in. Our team is so versatile these days with the exception of Tom haha.
MOTM - Richie Kay for his hat trick. Yeah two were penallties but he took the piss on the park at times. Nutmegging guys in our own half, just ridiculously confident on the ball. Superb.
Donkey - Sometimes i think mutter was a donkey in a pervious life. Horrible penalty. Im on the next one.

MOTM - Richie 'Hat-trick" Kay
Donkey - Yorkie for that miss.
On my penalty, it wasn't a bad penalty in the slightest. The keeper pulled off a blinder of a save in my eyes.
33.3% Goal scoring record this season nonetheless.

We had 17 there on Saturday lads. Only 8 replies to this - that's less than half. You don't need to go into any great detail - it's just good to recognise when boys play well and rip the arse out of folk when they miss an open goal :-)
