Looking forward to the game tomorrow. I think on Saturday, we were unlucky to lose Mampuya to injury and therefore throw Hastings into the mix - had we kept the same starting 11 on, I reckon we'd have fought back into it and grabbed the win. Although we were 2-1 down, I felt we were the better side in the first-half.
No idea who's fit for tomorrow and not heard anymore on the Barrowman signing. If Mampuya is out then Burke will need to decide if he wants to drop Donaldson back into defence or put McDonald to right back and pull someone else into midfield. With Burchill being on the bench last week, could mean he's fit so could go with him and Sparky upfront and drop Denholm back into midfield with Scott, Donaldson and Beaumount.
Docherty should be back from suspension so he'll be another option for midfield too.
Anyway, Falkirk have started well although they needed extra-time midweek to get through their Ramsdens Cup match so hopefully there'll be some tired legs on their side and we can take advantage!
Come on the Livi!

If Magic Mike is out then I reckon it'll be McDonald to right back and Docherty into the midfield. Denholm and McNulty looked to work well together and Donaldson had a good game in the middle so I think Burke would want to keep them as it is. Burchill gives you a cracking option from the bench too.
In saying that, I didn't quite understand the decision to bring him on when we went 3-2 up last week. We were down to ten men - you'd think we'd be looking to shore up at the back. Must have been a reason for it though.
If we can match last weeks effort, we'll give ourselves a good chance. Falkirk will be up there this season so it'll be tough but think our boys will be desperate to get that first league win.

I think it should be pointed out that I've not got too good a feeling about this one. I would love to be proved wrong, of course.

Only a win versus Grangemouth will suffice!

Well. I have to say that I've not come away from a game quite as disappointed for a long time.
We we're giving a right going over by Falkirk. They were better than us all over the park. We started off brightly but once the goals started going in that was the end of that.
Some of our young guys look as though the game was just passing them by. Burke was screaming at them at times but they just didn't seem able to gee themselves up at all.
Some support from the stands would maybe help. Some of the obscenities being shouted at our own team by 'fans' around me were way over the top.

Burke is quoted in the paper today saying that he'd just went through the team after the game and that the performance was not acceptable. It looked like too many players were not willing to put a shift in when things went against us yesterday. It was all a bit dispiriting in the end.

Some of the obscenities being shouted at our own team by 'fans' around me were way over the top. It's like some of our supporters don't even actually support the team, or manager. It's like they actually want us to be poor so that they can scream and shout at our own players and manager and club board and turnstile operators. No wonder folk stay away.

We were poor but we weren't battered for 90 minutes. We had a lot of the ball in the opening spells and nearer the end. Had we managed to turn our possession into goals, it could have been a different story. Losing Sparky was a big blow - especially when you see what Falkirk's striker went on to do.
Embarrassing from the spectator that decided to make a fool of himself and hang over the wall, slevering nonsense at the manager. If folk like that put more energy into supporting the team, the players would probably get more out if it. I'm sure none of them will thank him for his actions yesterday - doesn't help anyone at all.
Onwards and upwards to Airdrie on Tuesday. Hopefully get through to the next round and head to Dundee with a bit of confidence.

There were also people applauding him for it and the same people were booing the players off at half time and full time. Surely being called useless, sh*t and all sorts isn't going to make the team play better. Less energy into giving them stick (and running over to the bench to do so as well), more into cheering the lads on, not that hard.

I came away from the game as disappointed as the next fan yesterday. We were turned over by a fairly decent Falkirk side but that said we didn't seem to be as 'up' for the game as them and that can't be right!
I was especially disappointed though to hear that my dad and another lady, who were both volunteering on the turnstyles before the game, were subjected to foul and abusive language by Livi fans who tried to access the game as concessions when they should have been entering through the adult gate. By Livi fans!
You've got to wonder why anyone bothers at all sometimes.

By Livi fans! You've got to wonder why anyone bothers at all sometimes. I'm really sorry to hear about that Peter; your father is nothing but a gentleman; on Saturday I turned up with the exact change and he smiled at me and gave a little quip about never having enough change. Incidentally the lady doing the concessions at first refused entry to my son as his student card had apparently expired on 31st July - I simply explained to her that he was due to re-register for the coming year with Glasgow on 28th and would receive his new card after than and she was perfectly alright about it. As for the prize plonker getting all hot and bothered because he had made a mistake by joining the wrong queue who's fault is that? we've had segregated entrance fees for several years now (can't be that regular attendee if he's only noticed this now) and they are clearly marked. Likewise I recall that Alloa and Berwick were likewise separated. To further compound his own stupidity he starts shouting the odds at your dad who can only operate the turnstile on receipt of exactly £16 - how difficult is that. I note from the match thread on the LiviLions board that the boy was identified (named) and was later removed from the game for leaning over the wall and shouting at Burke during the match. I would like to think that the club will either warn the lad about his future conduct or ban him from the stadium for the rest of the season - we may need more supporters but people like that we can do without. I'm sure your dad's more than capable of standing up for himself but to stand and shout abuse at a volunteer in a cage who is only doing what he can seems like the worst case of cowardice. I only hope this doesn't put your dad, and the concessions lady, off voluneering in the future; they are the life-blood of the club; they are the sole reason we're able to get into the ground without a half hour wait (which I had to do on occasions when they used the south stand for home and away supporters).

There has been a small element of our fans who seem to want to spontaneously combust in a frenzied explosion of misplaced passion, anger and, at times, frothy mouthed hatred at the drop of a hat for several seasons now. You are correct to say that a small club like ours can do without behaviour like this.

No complaints about the score because we didnt deserve anything from the game. We did start well but falkirk looked a bit more hungrier than us and had a bit of extra quality upfront. We kept fighting towards the end but the game was done by then. Bad day at the office and hopefully it can be the game that kicks us into life.
It was good to see a couple of other livi fans having a bit of a go at the guy who decided to go and shout at burke. One thing that always happens at livi is that those shouting abuse are often just allowed to do so and noone ever really questions it. It was a welcome change to hear folk telling the mouthpiece that he was a numpty and to go and sit down.
Also very disappointing to hear that volunteers who give up their own time and miss part of the game to save the club some money were on the end of some nonsense from the same guy (?) too. Maybe if these folk gave some of their own time up to help and support the club too they wouldnt be as quick to hurl abuse at everyone all the time.

Pedro's dad is a gent. As like all the volunteers I greatly value what they do and the benefit they bring to the club. Even if he was paid staff, there is no justification for rude and vile behavior. I suggest that people such as the abuser exert greater control of their chemical intact before a game be it beer or other stimulants. Bear in mind that as he was ejected, others of his cohort used confrontational means against the stewards to protect him and defend his actions. I also suggest that such bravado would not occur as a sober individual, that such a person needs drink and friends to make them brave. So do us all a favor and stay away, some of us have wives and children at games and pay good money to be there and don't wish to subjected to such infantile behavior.
