WaiBop United snap up top Scottish goalkeeper

Former Scottish Premiership goalkeeper Andy McNeil will be the No 1 defender for WaiBop United this summer.

The 26-year-old has played for Hibernian in the premiership and Livingston in the championship after starting his career in Southampton's academy and starring for Scotland at the 2006 under-19 European Championships. McNeil also played in the 2007 Scottish League Cup final and has spent the past two seasons at Livingston.

Thought Andy was a decent 'keeper. Brilliant shot stopper and his distribution was always good. The only issue was that he lacked a bit of leadership at corners and what not and didn't look comfortable coming out to collect crosses or balls into the box.

But aye, best of luck to him - hope it works out for him!

He should get himself a pair of cuban heeled fitba boots! He could then maybe reach the bar if he stood on his tiptoes.
