Interesting. I hadn't realised just how decent a record we have against the Queens. Of course, I've air brushed the 6-2 pumping they handed out down at their gaff during the mad Italians era from my memory.

Of course, I've air brushed the 6-2 pumping they handed out down at their gaff during the mad Italians era from my memory. Airburshed so much that you've credited us with double the goals than we actually scored that day! Can't see us getting anything meaningful from this game, in all honesty. I thought we played pretty well at Alloa and on another day could've scored 3 or 4 goals with ease. QoS are undoubtedly a better side than Alloa however, and I can see our lack of cutting edge being our downfall - I'd love to be proved wrong, though! EDIT: Forgot that Russell played for them now - he's guaranteed to score at least one.

Alan Muir is the referee for this one. I am not hopeful given our injury situation just now

I hope we pump them, but unfortunately just cannie see it. They've got real momentum behind them and fear that they'll prove too strong for us without all our injured players.
Would take a draw right now.

Some result for the last week against the 'title favourites'. They absolutely breezed the second division/League One/third tier last season so will be fearing no-one this year, especially after an opening day result like that.
We created enough chances to win the game last week and on another day, probably would have nicked at least a draw but a combination of good goalkeeping and the woodwork kept Alloa in the game.
Aslong as we keep creating, I'm confident McNulty and Jimmy Scott are capable of sticking chances away.
First game at home tomorrow - hopefully the boys will come flying out the traps and get our first points on the board.

No idea what the team will be tomorrow. With young Ross Docherty being suspended, someone will need to fill in for him in the midfield. Not sure if any of the injured guys are back? See Denholm played in the Reserve game so we might see him start for the first time.
Definitely expecting Queens to provide a bigger threat than Alloa did so hope our boys are ready to up their game and match that. Almost certain that Russell will grab a goal too - still gutted we let him go.
I'll go for an entertaining 2-2 draw. Come on the Livi!

Over eager in training? I agree that a point would be pleasing. OT Partick against Hearts on BBC Alba just now.

I had us down to get 2-0 by Alloa last week. And I don't see any reason for confidence in this one either.
I'd take a point right now. It's going to be a long season.

A good performance is what I'd be happy with. Lot's of commitment and maybe a wee show of skill too. Hope wee Scougs is back but I'm worried about the wet weather. The ball will be running all over the place.

Just back and cant believe we have chucked yet another winnable game ! Can anyone please explain Neil Hastings to me and what he is diong in the team ? He has not played or trained with any team whatsover for years and when he did was deemed to be not good enough and now unfit and overweight walks into our team and costs a much needed win ! Yet again Burke fails to spot a potential second yellow like the rest of us and the enevitable happens ! I was told today that while Hastings lives out his dreams ( and shatters ours ) our youth sytem is left in tatters with no coach or games for the younger boys ! Muppet managment yet again !

Roller coaster of a game, that!
We looked really good for the first 25 minutes. Knocked the ball about well and Denholm & Sparky linked up well. Brilliant play by Jimmy to set up the goal - tore the Queens boy inside out.
Slack marking for Beanie's goal - thought DJ could have done better too. Looked like it slipped under his grasp a bit. Obviously need to see the highlights but it the penalty award certainly looked wrong at the time and the way Coll and co protested, can only assume the ref got it wrong.
Losing Mampuya was bad as we're already low on numbers. Hastings lack of game time showed with a couple of silly yellows.
Huge credit to the boys for digging deep though and getting back into it. Desperately unlucky not to hold out for the win in the end.
Thought Dycey, Mensing and Talbot all had solid games in defence. Change of position for Coll too but he looked good - best I've seen him on the ball and in the tackle. Good to see Denholm start and be impressed - maybe tired a bit towards the end but that's to be expected.
Much improved from last week - hopefully the first of few steps in the right direction.

Bloody hell, settle petal? You seem fairly roused at the lack of an U19 team this year - a quick read through the program today states that we're entering the new Reserve League, which I'm assuming will be our U19's and fringe players (if we ever have that luxury). I was mightily surprised by our performance today, let alone the result. Absolute night and day compared with last week; much more intense pressing, passing was good, a lot more creativity and cracking play up front. Denholm looks a cracking player, and I was impressed with Jimmy being all over the midfield and providing a great assist for the first goal. Despite conceding three I don't think the defence - with the exception of Hastings - played too badly. The customary Iain Russell was disappointing to lose, the penalty was an utter joke and the third was just so scrappy. After Mike went off it seemed to me like Burke wanted to keep Coll's intensity and bite in the midfield rather than bringing him back, so Hastings came on. It's readily apparent that the guy is only in the squad for when there's a severe lack of players, like today. Folk would probably be complaining still if a young laddie from the youth system had come on today and been sent off; it'd shatter his confidence potentially, and probably not do his chances in the future any good. Can't have it both ways I'm afraid. All in all, a more than encouraging afternoon and with a stronger referee than Muir we would've possibly saw a different result. But, considering Queens put four past the title favourites last week, I wasn't too impressed with them - still, a good result for us, and on to Falkirk next week!

Would take a draw right now. In the end a draw felt like being robbed! The ref was a clown. A clown who had a nightmare that unfortunately we (Livi fans) all had to suffer through. He gave them the penalty when he clearly did not see the ball hit Donaldson's hand (despite Iain Russell cheating by loudly screaming for "handball!". He did not give us a penalty when the ball did hit their players high arm in the box. I was delighted with the battling performance that the lads put in over the piece. I was happy too to see Richie Burke constantly talking to and encouraging the players to give that little bit more. I know we can talk but I thought the size of the Queens support was pretty small. Just had assumed that they'd have brought more.

We felt sorry for Neil Hastings because he only gets a game when we're low on numbers and there player definitely just bumped into him and fell over. That referee (who was the worst I've seen in years) was always going to send him off. What about the several handballs we didn't get but they got one that never was for the penalty!

!
The U19s were playing teams that were terrible so they now make up the reserve team so their development now continues with games against a mix of senior pros and youth at Reserve level.
