A very positive article from the Edinburgh News indeed! It's good to hear a bit more about Richie but it's a bit sad that his wife is still over in America though.

That's a really good read. I'm excited by what he says and really hope him and Burchill are able to push on with the philosophy that he talks of. I think there's a few in the Livi support who are doubting Burke already but as he says in the article, it's not an overnight job to all but transform the team. There's a number of new faces mixed with young guys who lack experience, that'll take time to blend and like he says, is part of a two year plan that they aim to carry out.
If he can get this group of guys playing the sort of football he talks about, then I'm really looking forward to this season! Hopefully we'll start by pumping Alloa on Saturday :-)

He knows it's a results driven business though so a win on Sat at Alloa will maybe see the doubters ease up a bit (but then again....). Alloa are part time, aren't they?

I think the key is patience. The suporters have got to realise that it won't always go to plan and when it doesn't, we can't all just hurl abuse or moan and whine about it. From what Burke's saying, it sounds like he knows that when Hughes was trying to get the ball down and play football, we weren't doing well enough with the final product so the whole keep ball/pass, pass, pass thing was becoming frustrating. I think he's looking to be more clinical and offer something more in an attacking sense as opposed to simply trying to keep the ball at all costs - hence talking about midfielders making more 'risk' runs in the chance that the ball gets through.
There's be times when we're off the boil or other teams get results against us - that's football. The main thing is to remember that the guy is trying to get us to a point where folk want to come and watch what we're doing.
Everything I've heard from him so far has ticked the right boxes - here's hoping that more boxes are ticked on the park this season too.
