Seen on our twitter feed last night that we had two English trialists playing in the reserve friendly against Musselburgh. We won 1-0 but it was young Kyle Lander that got the goal after coming on as a sub. One of the papers at the weekend also suggested Nish is still on trial with us alongside Vinny Mukendi. It said Mukendi is English born so assume he might have been one of the two who featured last night. His brother is on loan to Partick from Liverpool. Not to say it means he wouldn't be good for us but going by his record here, he doesn't look too prolific - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vinny_MukendiHe's been capped for Congo U21's and is 6ft 7" if this video is correct - Also found this story on him from 2010 where, after playing in the Macclesfield first team, he was apparently being monitored by a Premiership side aswell as a number of Championship teams - www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_6513869,00.html

I've never rated Nish.

Good for the younger lads to get a good win under their belts. Would be amazing if we could sign up Mukendi lad! At 6'7" he'd be twice the size of some of our first team!

See an article on the Evening News site about Nish and Mukendi. www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/livingston/former-hibee-nish-is-given-a-trial-at-livi-1-3028382Richie Burke says he likes Nish but isn't sure they can afford to offer him the sort of package he'd be after and that there's other clubs interested in him too. Also says that aswell as those two, there might be a couple of others coming in for trials. I quite like Nish. Knows where the goals are and is actually in the top 10 all-time goalscorers in the SPL having banged them in for Kilmarnock, Hibs and Dundee. I reckon he'd work well alongside either McNulty or Burchill. Bit of a target man and will be a different option when we come up against big defences.

Good knowledge on the top 10 SPL scorers stat - just had a look and see he's 10th on the list. Some top names there from over the years so no mean feat to be sitting in 10th place.
I'd have Nish. Can remember him banging in a hat-trick against us for Killie at Rugby Park. As PS says, wouldn't do us any harm having a target man figure to mix things up when needed.

You've got to imagine that Nish is showing up good in training because he didn't really make a mark on the pre-season friendlies.
