Nice early start tomorrow to get up to Elgin for another cup game. I'm a fan of the long away days so was quite happy when the draw was made. I didn't think we were too bad at Berwick - if Sparky puts away the penalty and Talbot doesn't get himself sent off, we'd probably have won that game. It wasn't a case of us playing terribly and being played off the park. Assume Talbot will be suspended tomorrow so wouldn't be surprised to see McDonald drop in to left back. No idea if O'Brien and Scougall are anywhere near ready but we could be doing with them in the middle of the park. Would bring Wilkie in from the start for either of Beaumont or Fordyce as I don't think either were particularly good last week. Docherty looked handy when he came on so would be happy to see us start him too. Can be tough going up to these places with the long travel but hopefully we'll see another Stranraer and we'll stick a few past them! £12 for seating area & £10 for terraces for adults tomorrow. £7 & £5 for concessions. Only a tenner for the supporters coach too. Still seats left hereCOLTS! |

Bad news to be missing those two on top of the guys who were out last week. Already having an injury crisis and the league has even started yet.
Reckon we'll shape up something like -

Doesn't leave an awful lot on the bench to change things up if we need to - Walker, Downie, Mullen...
Hugely unlucky to have so many out already. The quality of the guys we're missing is unreal - Talbot, Jones, Denholm, Scougall, Wilkie, O'Brien, Jacobs and Burchill. Deary me!
Not quite sure what to expect up North tomorrow now. I'll be there anyway, sporting my new home top! Come on the Livi!

Thought we were brilliant today, our support was cracking at BB and the team certainly didn't let us down. Our midfield impressed me, Beaumont was excellent and worked his socks off. Looking forward to Alloa next week.

Was a good composed performance yesterday. Bossed them about for pretty much the hole game without ever needing to be at our best.
I thought Jimmy stood out (my, they don't like him!) but there were decent performances all over the park.
Hearts or Hibs at Almondvale in the next round, thank-you very much.

Hibs don't come into it until the 3rd round since they qualified for Europe (before being bent over). Don't think we can get Hearts either, might be wrong but I think it's seeded. So assuming that Partick beat Ayr on Tuesday night then we can get one of these:
Airdrie, Montrose, Cowdenbeath, Dumbarton, Dunfermline, Forfar, Alloa, Raith, Hamilton, Stranraer or Queen of the South.

Was pretty impressed with the lad Connor Macdonald. He seems to put in a shift every week he's picked.
What's going on with our injury list almost a full team out and I heard yesterday some of the boys playin weren't 100% either, but needs must?
Good solid performance tho from the boys.

Yeah, we'll be seeded for the next round so will miss the SPL sides. Quite happy with Stranraer or Montrose (home or away) though. Just want to avoid a stinking draw like Hamilton, Dunfermline or Raith.
Thought we were good without ever having to step it up on Saturday. Was impressed with Mensing, Wilkie, Docherty, Beaumont and McNulty. Still to be convinced that Donaldson is ready to be a regular starter but it's very early days.
Good to see Sparky driving at the defence before firing home for his goal. A lot of his goals come in the box but he's got the ability to take on players too.
Was also pleased to see Danny Denholm making an appearance at the end. Thought he looked good on the ball and another who likes to run at his marker. Hopefully we'll see the rest of the injured players filtering into the team sooner rather than later.
Enjoyed the trip as a whole. Decent wee social club, pie stalls priced fairly and a good wee ground. On to the next round!

Sparcy does really well to hold of the challenges from bigger guys than he is and then beat the goalie from outside of the box. Looks better than I remember it (sorry)! |

I wasnt there but delighted that we won the game and got through to the next round. Seen someone say that of the 14 players that got game time on saturday, 10 of them came through our youth ranks - another good sign for the future.
Howcome talbot played? I thought he was suspended from last week?
