Am I the only one that finds it strange that we had agreed to play a game against a pub team the other night?
Apart from the fact that Sunday league sides are full of absolute twats who just turn up to games on a Sunday morning straight from their night out the previous night, what would we learn from watching our first team playing against that sort of mobb?
Game was abandoned after 10 minutes due to the rain anyway but just find it strange that we'd be playing, what appears to be our first XI against a pub team as preperation for our season opener?
Even if we'd had a team full of trialists and young boys, I still don't see what you'd be able to take from playing against a pub team. Strange one that.

Some of the top amateur teams are likely just as good as some junior teams these days.

Mark Burchill's brother is co - manager of The Harvester. Likely something to do with that, I'd reckon.
Agree that I can't see what we'd gain from this but possibly a wee favour or something?

Thank goodness there were no broken bones like Sunday morning games

Given the Burchill brothers connection, you'd have to assume the game was only going to be played at half pace - or at least some sort of agreement that the pub team wouldn't play like an out and out pub team and break half our team before our opening game of the season?
Anyway, the good old Scottish summer stopped anything before it could happen and McNulty stuck another goal away so it's all good!

Ah, I see - didn't know that. Was just surprised to see that we put out a team that might not be too far away from the team that starts tomorrow.
