I'll be sitting in a bar in that Spain watching for the result. Keep me space behind the goals warm for when a get back. Hope we pump them!

No comments on a game unless you were there now. Ha ha! Part-timer indeed. First game of the season as well. For what it's worth, I reckon we'll scoosh it.

Mmmmm. Not so sure. I think it will be close than you think but we'll scrape through by the skin of our teeth. 2-1 win for the Lions.

Can't wait - a real game! Although I remember being excited about heading to Annan last season and that garbage!
The team have definitely had plenty of games to get to know each other - had the three down south against the Romanians, the three home games then the Highland tour at the weekend there so hopefully they'll all be raring to go come Saturday.
As much as many see it as a bit of a diddy cup, I'd love us to go on a bit of a run and win the thing for the first time.
Had a look on the Berwick website and they have general admission down as £12 for adults, £6 for concessions and £2 for under 16s - not sure if that will differ for the cup though?

What's the script with trialists in cup games? We've had a few playing the last few games but might need to get any we want signed done by Saturday for them to play against Berwick - unless you can play trialists in the Ramsdens Cup?
Looking forward to the game. Not that results mean much in pre-season but I don't think Berwick won any of their friendlies - 1-1 with Ashington, a 2-1 loss against Oxford and a 2-2 draw with Forfar.
We've got to be confident going into this but like LiviLion21 said, we'd have all said the same about going to Annan last season.
I reckon our back-line will be Mampuya, Mensing, Donaldson and Talbot but no idea what our midfield will be as it's been pretty chopped and changed for each of the friendlies. If fit, you've got to imagine O'Brien and Scougall would start in there behind McNulty upfront. No idea who else we'll see. I've been impressed with Conot McDonald in midfield (although he's usually a defender) so would be happy to see him start too.
Come on Livi!

We improved with each of the home friendlies and have managed to get a couple of wins in the games up north so im pretty confident going into this one.
3-1 to us with sparky, burchill and mensing with the goals.

3-1 to us with sparky, burchill and mensing with the goals. Funny you mention Mensing scoring. I was thinking during the Partick friendly that he might grab us a few goals from headers at set pieces this season. He's a big guy and will likely be a nightmare to defend against - hopefully he'll knock a few in over the season. Seen on twitter that Sparky's brother is running a mini-bus to the game tomorrow with a whole lot of his mates so hopefully there'll be a decent Livi following making the trip down. Looking forward to it!

Just back from a week's holiday in Berwick, and now I'm going back again!!!
Looking forward to seeing some real fitba' after these few friendlies - but Berwick's always a tough place to go so I don't think this will be an easy one!
I think our front line is strong and Jimmy Scott will add some bite in midfield if he plays, which might come in handy against a Third Division side, so I think we'll find our way through 3-2, Burchill x2 and Mampuya to score the goals.

The result was a big disappointment yesterday but I don't think we need to get too disheartened about the way we played. I think I read on the official site that only Jason Talbot played in the last game of last season, so it's going to take time for the team to get it right. I don't think there's any doubt that we were a better side than Berwick yesterday, it's just one of those things that we didn't take our chances and they did. I would have put my house on Sparky to tuck away the penalty (glad I didn't...!) I thought the referee was poor even though he gave us two penalties. There's something wrong when players are getting sent off in mysterious circumstances when others (Berwick player in extra time) can cynically hack down opposition players with no intention of playing the ball and get away with a booking. At the end of the day... it's diddy cup anyway

If Sparky had stuck away the penalty, I reckon we'd have went on to win that game. Actually really enjoyed the day as a whole, result aside. Cracking wee social club where we enjoyed pool, darts and even a cocktail. Game was actually pretty decent - two penalties, a red card, a last minute equaliser and extra-time. Only thing missing was penalties!
Thought Mensing looked good yesterday but Donaldson was a bit all over the place. Really impressed with young McDonald in midfield - was chasing down everything and made some excellent blocks and interceptions. Docherty looked good when he came on too - reckon he'll be a shoe-in to start ahead of Dycey and/or Beaumont against Elgin.
We had plenty of chances throughout the game - the penalty miss, Burchill rolled one wide and we had a couple of one-on-ones early on in ET but didn't take advantage.
On another day, we'd have stuck 3 or 4 away and been fine. Onwards and upwards - literally. Elgin here we come.

A game best forgotten, for so many reasons, I'd suggest.

Apparently Berwick filmed the game so there may be a chance of highlights if we can get access to the footage from them or the SFL.
Might not be the most enjoyable viewing but lessons can always be learned.
Be good for the PT's amongst us to see it too. Blah! ;-)

Got to remember that we were without 3 or 4 guys who could easily go straight into the starting team.
Docherty was on the bench because he's just back from injury but with a full fit squad, it wouldn't be a surprise to see a midfield of Jacobs, O'Brien, Docherty and Scougall. That's without even mentioning Danny Denholm who's still to come back.
So with that said, you could argue that we had a makeshift midfield in place with the likes of Beaumont, Fordyce and McDonald starting in there and yet we probably played the better football.
Losing Talbot was a big blow. They banged in a couple of goals not long after he walked - one of which came down that side (although Docherty was unlucky to lose his footing as he tried to chase back to cover).
If we'd taken our chances then it might have been a different story but I don't see any reason to panic based on that. We lost away to Annan last season then went on to record our biggest ever victory against Stranraer the following week. I'd settle for a repeat of that in Elgin on Saturday.

Yes but we shouldn't need our first team to beat them

We didn't think we played that bad but it did look like a few of the boys didn't know each others names at times. A bit embarrassing to be honest.
