Be interesting to see if Partick are much changed from the side that won the title last season. I know they lost Erskine and Paton who were big players for them but they added John Baird who's a decent striker.
Not the most exciting of friendlies having played them 4 times last season (and having been royally pumped in one of those meetings) but another game down the 'Vale all the same.
I don't imagine they'll be anywhere near as good as our prevous five friendly opponents have been so maybe a better chance to see what our boys can do. It'll still be a tough test but we might see a bit more of the ball this time round. Hopefully take another step in the right direction as the Berwick game edges closer.

It'd be good to get a friendly win under our belts so hopefully this game could give us a chance of that. Looking forward to it!

As long as we try to keep moving our own plans forward then that's the main thing. Turning this lot over would be nice but it's all about building towards the Berwick cup game and then into the season as a whole.

A good old fashioned Thistle v Jags encounter. Jumpers for goalposts, anyone?

Why is the fans bar closed tonight too? It was shut on Saturady as well. I almost forgot about this game but as others have said an improvement in performance is all we can ask for as we look to the long season ahead.

Decent performance tonight. Mensing and Donaldson looking promising at the back for me.
Still look lacking up front though. Hope the remaining few games can iron that out though.

At last some bite to our play! Been too long coming. Looks like the lads won't be taking any pish off anyone this season!

That booking tonight counts for next season so was a stupid yellow card. Not bad game, but we're severely lacking goals & that surely must be a worry for us?!?

Not bad game, but we're severely lacking goals & that surely must be a worry for us?!? Yep, agree with that. The game seemed to be taken pretty seriously so that's definitely one in the eye for those who decry friendlies as meaningless kickabouts. I think on another day that we'd have seen the ref flashing his red once or twice. If he could find them. he seemed to have lost his little bag of clues early on. He was forever getting in the way and seemed to be just making it up as he went along at times. I enjoyed the wee fisticuffs at the end to be honest. I thought it showed that we're not about to allow ourselves to be bullied or manhandled. Even the young lads were getting involved. Overall, a decent game for a nil nil but we've yet to see anything like a proper strike force emerging yet. Still work to be done on that but still time to do it before the big KO.

What was Gallagher doing racing out of his box every time there was an altercation?
And yeah, Talbot's challenge near the end doesn't look too clever. Balatoni went a bit over the top though. The ref had to physically pull him away from Talbot.
Good to see the team showing more bite!

Wouldn't agree that Talbot has to calm down because he's vice-captain. He's always had that bit of bite to his game and I'm quite happy that he doesn't take any shoite from anyone.
Don't think Lander's tackle was bad enough to spark the reaction it did and it almost looks like Baird leaves a wee bit on him and he hit the deck - no surprise though, Baird is a top tallywhacker at the best of times.
Much better performance on the whole - just lacked a killer edge. Progress for sure :-)

Call that a fight? I've been hit harder by her indoors for forgetting that she doesn't take brown sauce on her chips.
