Anyone know when the draw for the first round of the League Cup will be made?
Going by the fixture list, we'll play the first round on Saturday 3rd August - the weekend in between the Berwick game in the Ramsdens Cup and the league opener away to Alloa.
Not that far away 'til then - be good to know where we're off to (since we rarely get home draws in the cup!).

Is there going to be a League Cup? What will it be called? The SPFL Cup? Will it be sponsored?

According to the Livi facebook page, the first round draw is tomorrow at 2.30pm. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23264890If it's just done the same as it has the last few seasons, we'll be seeded which means we can only play one of the following unseeded sides - Stenhousemuir Ayr Utd Stranraer East Fife Albion Rovers The Rangers Peterhead Queens Park Berwick Rangers Elgin City Montrose Stirling Albion Annan Ath Clyde East Stirling Money wise, The Rangers away would be a good draw but would likely mean we'd be pumped out at the first round so I'd prefer to avoid them and progress a few rounds. Obviously don't want Berwick either since we've got them already. I like the longer trips so wouldn't mind an away tie up at Elgin or Peterhead. Even another Stranraer away day would do. |

The Rangers at Almondvale would be good though - a full house, a big payday and hopefully a chance to stuff them out the cup at the first hurdle! |

Delighted with that draw. I know it might not be the best financially or such like but after a season of all our away games being pretty close by, having Berwick and Elgin away is good - well for those of us who make the journeys to away games. I remember going up there the morning after my 21st birthday party, absolutely hanging out my rear only to see them turn us over 2-1 and dump us out the cup. Hopefully we do the business this time round and set ourselves up with a decent second round tie too. For anyone who's unsure about making the trip, do it. A few hours on the supporters coach but Elgin have a decent wee ground and social club and it's a good one to tick off the 'to do' list if you haven't been before.
