See on the Falkirk OS that they're about to lay an artifical pitch which will be ready for the new season kicking off. www.falkirkfc.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=6468&Itemid=320Is this the way that most teams will be heading in the near future? I know a lot of the lower league clubs already have it in place. Less chance of games being called off when the cold snap hits aswell as a pitch that can be rented out virtually 24/7 so a real revenue generator. No idea what sort of cost you're looking at initially (or how long it would take to make that money back through hiring it out) but surely we'll be seeing this happening more regularly? we've got the fieldturf behind the East Stand but it's in poor condition and probably needs replaced - I wonder if our board have thought about installing an artificial 'main pitch'?

Suppose the delay and probably the money to pay for the plastic park will be coming from the Ronan Keating and Status Quo concerts.
Shame that we cannot utilise our stadium in that way to generate non footballing income but the location would likely prevent it from happening.
Never been a fan of plastic parks, but given the number of call offs over the past few seasons it is an understandable choice

I remember Pearse Flynn talking about utilising Almondvale for music gigs and the sort but it never did come to anything. Wonder if the players would be for a plastic pitch given chat in days gone by of it causing injuries to players. Got to assume the latest stuff they use is more advanced to try and prevent that?

Fitbaw should be played on grass, no plastic.
