Clyde approve move to East Kilbride and name change
Clyde's owners have voted to approve the club moving to East Kilbride and rename it EK Clyde. The club, formerly based in Glasgow, has played in Cumbernauld since 1994.
www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22232813? Nae fans. Nae money. A sensible move?

I'd no idea that things were so bad there for them at Broadwood. They make money on a matchday from punters paying to get in, and from advertising, and thats it. Not a penny from a pie sold, no social club facilities, no club shop - in fact, the club have to pay a fee for each day during the week if they want to use one of the pitches there.
If a move to East Kilbride is the only way to get the club moving in some kind of positive direction, then it should at least be looked at - I'm sure the club are under no illusions as to how divisive an issue it could be.

Shouldn't be a problem for Clyde, they were pretty nomadic when they left Shawfield. Some of the Cumbernauld locals took to them but they nearly went out of business with the hassle over renting the stadium so this could be a very positive move; EK is certainly big enough to support a team but the question is whether the locals are remotely interested in Clyde when they have Hamilton & Motherwell on there doorstep already.

EK Clyde sounds horrible. Should have went for East Kilbride FC or stuck with Clyde on it's own.
