Do we know which players are contracted to the club beyond the end of the season?
I only know of Scougall and Donaldson for sure as I remember reading stories recently when they signed the new deals.
Getting near that time where Burke ad Burchill will need to decide who they want to try and keep a hold of and who they'll let leave. Imagine there might be some interest from other clubs for some of the guys who'll be out of contract soon - we'll need to move fast to try and get them tied up.
All this depends on dosh too really. We might not even be in a position to offer players the same terms that they're currently on and if a wage reduction is on the cards, we might see most of our current squad depart.
Who would you like to see stay?

With the whole reconstruction thing up in the air just now, there's a good chance the board aren't even able to nail down what sort of budget they have for contract offers as they don't know where/who they may be playing. Must be a nightmare for the folk in charge.
I'd like to see us keep most of the current squad to be honest. I think McNeil is a good 'keeper but could come out for crosses more - would be tough to pick up a better 'keeper for less. I wasn't a big fan of Callum Booth but he's grown on me in the past few weeks - wonder if he'll be available on a free if his Hibs contract is up.
I'd definitely like to see us keep Garcia Tena, McCann, Barr, Talbot, O'Brien, Keaghan, Andreu, Russell and McNulty.
McNeil, Booth, Kyle Jacobs, Fox and Morton I'm not so fussed about but would be happy to see them still here.
Tying up the youngsters is the big thing though - Fordyce, Donaldson, Mullen, Lander, McDonald etc - these are the ones we'll need to look to bring through if Burke thinks they're good enough.

I suspect that financially necessity will see a few of our more experienced players leave unfortunately. The ones I'd like to see stay are Barr, O'Brien, Russell and McNulty. Andreu as well if possible. I don't quite get the Jesus hero-worship on the grounds he's actually a pretty poor defender and McCann and Morton are both horrendous. Fox has been a good servant over the years, and maybe if there was a coaching role at the club, I'd like to see him stick around.

...and McCann and Morton are both horrendous. Can't agree with that. I don't think either have been brilliant by any means but 'horrendous' is an extreme. McCann's been steady - good games and bad. Gets caught on the ball too often but gets up and down the line and backs up the midfield well when we're attacking. Morton's showed glimpses of being a decent player - his goals at Stranraer and Dumbarton were thronkers. He's got a bit of flair going forward that we don't have elsewhere but his execution of 'tricks' and holding on to the ball too long at times have been noticable on a regular occasion.

Morton, fox and kyle have all been absolutely terrible this season. I wouldnt be sorry to see any of them leave in the summer.
Our defence has leaked goals all year round too. I do like craig barr but still as part of that defence i wouldnt have any complaints if any from him, watson, tena, mccann or booth were emptied. Talbot hasnt had much of a chance and has been good in seasons gone by so would stick with him.
When russell hasnt been getting caught of side or tangled up in daft off the ball scuffles hes bagged a few goals so hes worth keeping as if mcnulty. Obrian and andreu too.
If money is tight then theres no time for us to be keeping a hold of average players. Id rather we let them go and brought through our younger boys.
Keep talbot, obrian, scougall, andreu, keagan, russell and mcnulty aswell as the younger boys whove been there or thereabouts this season.

Morton has been awful & deserves to be shown the door. He constant moaning towards other players is a joke given his own game. He showed nothing on Saturday when he had a whole game to impress!!!

I didn't think much of that big lug at the back on Saturday. If Manu U are seriously thinking about signing him it's about time that Fergie chucked it!

Looked very vulnerable and out of his depth at times. However Saturday was a bad day for the whole team so maybe a bit unfair to single him out. Lets see what he offers in the remaining games.

Agreed. The whole team was out of sorts, especially with so many regulars on the sidelines injured or suspended.
At the very worst it's a good 90 minutes under his belt and they say your supposed to learn more from mistakes and adversity than if all is going great.
Likely he'll be starting again tonight so a bit of support will help him, and the rest of the lads, no end.

It was big Bambi's first full game, so in that respect good on the young man for filling a spot for the team when we needed him to.
It wasn't his finest hour, but he was willing to step up and for that he deserves credit. Hopefully he settles down a bit if he's playing tonight.

I thought Coll was brilliant in the second half last night. Showed good strength, bravery and fight aswell as winning numerous headers to both attack and defend. Playing alongside Barr and JCAGTL might have just steadied his confidence a bit and the clean sheet won't do him any harm either.
Likewise, good to see DJ getting a run out - maybe a sign that McNeill won't be sticking around next season?

You could be right - many a poor player has become a good manager. Mourinho, like fox, wasnt very good at football but hes done alright for himself in management...
