With the postponed games now rescheduled, weather permitting, we'll be playing 7 games in 3 weeks.
Partick Thistle away (Sat 23/3) Hamilton Accies home (Wed 27/3) Dunfermline home (Sat 30/3) Falkirk home (Tues 2/4) Dumbarton away (Sat 6/4) Cowdenbeath away (Tues 9/4) Hamilton Accies home (Sat 13/4)
Must be some doubt with the Dunfermline tie too with them on the brink of going out the game.
Will be a tough run of games but if we can avoid niggling injuries or suspensions, we've got a squad capable of handling it.

welcome to the world of Scottish football. Because of no other reason but tradition we play the game in the winter. In a country that has curling as another national sport? But no one has the imagination to transfer to summer, or has the cash to cover the grounds. And these are the same people that are offering us 12 12 18......

As a serious suggestion, see in September when the weather is set fair and the players are fit, why dont we play Saturday/ Tuesday every week? We always end up having that arrangement latter in the year when its cold and no one is interested.

I'm not disagreeing with any of that. This weather is a nonsense!

In Scotland you cannot predict when the poor weather will effect games, but playing twice a week would allow for more games to be played in better conditions. Perhaps following the International model of Friday and Tuesday games would give players and parks sufficent time to recover from each game and perhaps attract a TV audience?

Isn't most peoples suggestion to start summer football in March? If not start, certainly have it playing some part. Can you imagine if the powers switched from tradition, and the season kick off was delayed by a fortnight due to blizzards in March which aren't that rare? They'd get hounded and look even bigger amateurs. The only way that summer football can be fool proof is if it's started in April and finished by September. And I'm sure we'd all love 6 months of no football.

I remember one year it snowed on May 1st! So not even that is fool proof. Which is kind of my point. We also had a pre-season called off due to heavy rain. Scottish football has more problems than cold snaps to be worrying about.

Surely the suggestion of playing Saturday/Tuesday in September is just the same as what's happening later in the season anyway?

Tinkering with how many teams there are in each league while not even attempting to address the effect the Scottish winter has on the game, the finances and the supporters, both existing and the next generation, is just plain daft, in my opinion.

Surely the suggestion of playing Saturday/Tuesday in September is just the same as what's happening later in the season anyway? No its not for an important reason. At the tail end of the season, we may have nothing to play for as now. At the start of a season all titles are still possible. So play lots earlier is far better for all teams than playing lots at the end which benefit just a small few.

I actually quite like when the games go ahead in the winter. Grabbing a pie and bovril or soup and looking out the big jacket and hat. Summer is for holidays and barbeques.

I am in favour of Summer football. Even if we has a season March to November there may be some games impacted by poor weather. However, with Winter football there is a guarantee that some fixtures between August and May will get postponed. Changing to Summer football would give us a free range to get a better TV deal for our game.

As Deal indicates Scottish is what some call a hard sell. taking away direct competition by moving to a summer game will enable a higher price. That said telly should not always be allocated to the highest bidder. Having no terrestial pressence is not good for the SFL as we are not getting enough exposure to attract new blood supporters.
