Could someone confirm if Alan Lawrence was a striker who also played as a right wing?

Alan Lawrence was a very versatile player; I went to school with him & back then he usually played midfield and occasionally sweeper despite his lack of height.
He could play anywhere really & do a job. I’m pretty sure he scored the winner for MTFC against Hibs in a League Cup tie shortly after Hibs had lost to Hearts thus making Hibs the worst team in Edinburgh at the time. I was at the game and that is my recollection but he might have scored th equaliser. The irony being he was/is a Hibs fan.
To answer your question, I’d suggest he spent most of his pro career as a striker but he could indeed play as a winger.

I think he played quite a few games for Airdrieonians (the original team) and also some games for Hearts too.
My memory of him is that he was a bit lightweight. More of a nuisance in the box than a guaranteed goal scorer (like, for example, John Robertson).

Agreed, not an out & out Robbo-type but he would chip in with a few over a season.
