Oh well.
By all accounts we played well enough but didn't take any of the chances that came our way.

Yeah, but we also had to contend with a ref that thought it was okay for red shirted players to foul with impunity & get away with it... he did award us free kicks which we wasted but we should have had so many more & although the second goal was largely irrelevant it was a joke of a decision to award the pen.
Also thought we had a pen shout of our own at the end of the first half when Bartley almost played in Erskine, looked like a possible foul on him which caused him to miss the ball & after Bartley reclaimed the loose ball it looked like he was clipped but stayed on his feet.
Ref angered me from start to finish.
That said we created enough chances to have given them a pumping but failed to take them & our set pieces were poor.

Don’t think we can blame the officials for that result. We played well overall i think but nothing other than very poor finishing cost us. Corners and free kicks were terrible all game.

Keaghan's really blowing hot and cold with his set pieces this season, some unforced errors in his passing too. Really could do with Pittman back playing, just the type of game he'd have got a goal for us too.
Thought Lawson looked good when he came on for an injured Bartley, good at breaking up play and driving forward with the ball.
I think that's the worst a team has played against us at home this season and they somehow managed to take all three points, St Mirren were far better than them and we won that game, football is just bloody weird at times.

Wednesday night is a free hit cup tie, if we win it will be tremendous but if we lose it won’t be a disaster, so don’t make it any more important, it’s a game we are not expected to win.
Livi J I do agree that our own inability to finish off chances cost us the game but there were a whole host of decisions not given that could have given us even more chances; TBH we’d probably have missed those too but who knows for sure?
We can’t fault the lads for giving their all for the cause and the hardest thing in football is generally agreed to be putting it in the net ( unless you are Man City whereby it’s pretty well second nature... having said that Aguero (their number 1 striker) should have scored about 6 himself yesterday so maybe that proves the point) so let’s keep it in perspective.
