I’d love it if we beat them, love it.

Huge game for both teams today. They need to win for obvious reasons because there’s a gap appearing between St Mirren and the two teams above them. We need the points too and a win today will come very close to ensuring our safety. Can’t wait! It looks like Rafa and Lee will be back soon, in time for the final push. The squad looks strong now. Whilst I’d love a win, and think we can get one, a draw would be fine. There are always strange results at this time of the season - Hamilton winning at Pittodrie is an example - so anything could happen. 1-0 to us. One of our centre backs to score it.

Right, okay.
To lose to a last minute goal is a proper punch in the gut but it's got to be said that we're in danger of throwing our superb start to the season away!
Our recent results since Christmas, barring the unexpected win v Kilmarnock last week, have been nothing short of rubbish.
It's so disappointing to drop 6 points to Dundee and St Mirren and I hate to say it but the games after the split will have these so-called relegation threatened teams gunning for us.
We might pick up points unexpectedly from somewhere but looking at the fixtures it's not at all obvious where or when that'll happen.

We were robbed v Dundee and today was a lottery given the weather. We drew with Hearts and can't really be expected to shine in games against Rangers with the resources they have. The Motherwell game was the only one where they let themselves down. We're holding our own through sheer hard work in a league we have no business being in. A wee bit luck and a rub of the green have been missing for some time.

I agree with your concerns Pedro but I also agree with Orco, we are in a division that 12 months ago we were not expecting to find ourselves in (unless you are JonSnow or Bobi & to be fair JS wasn’t really expecting it he was anticipating that it could happen; Bobi on the other hand seemed to think it was a divine right) - our tremendous start has also raised expectations instead of which we (unless you are me cause I was already thinking this way) should have been thinking that the great start was providing a cushion for us when the bad results came.
We are currently no worse off vis a vis our position in relation to Dundee than we were before they beat us & are arguably better off as there are fewer games to play & while St Mirren have moved closer to us they are still behind Dundee (and I hope they finish below us but above Dundee).

As Holt said in his post match interview, we need to be a bit more streetwise in these kind of games and just make sure we see them out and take the point, that's Hamilton away and yesterday against St Mirren, both bad conditions and at that stage of the game it is really naïve to concede a goal like we did.
I was hoping we'd give Hibs a fight for the last top six spot but it has gone now, the great start to the season has given us enough of a cushion to finish in ninth place, and maybe even eighth, we should get the odd draw and probably a win or two in the games left. With Raffa almost back playing first team football and Dolly not far away, it will give us a wee lift and enough up front to grab some points in games we're just losing with narrow defeats.

Is the real question about whether our terrific start has brought about a degree of complacency? As you suggest JS it is very likely that have amassed sufficient points to survive, so has our intensity dropped due to having roughly achieved the season’s target or has our team, which has seriously overachieved in the last 18 months or so simply reached its peak? Is it a case of guys knowing they will be leaving at the end of the season simply easing off? (I don’t think it is, Gallagher & Halkett remain 2 of our most consistent performers & by all accounts are most likely to leave - along with loan players obv) - can this team raise its level again to once more be the thorn in the side of the rest of the league?

Complancey or managed poorly? Seems twitter is gathering momentum for Holts head. Went to the reserve cup final on Sunday at Almondvale and we had half the first team playing including Rafa and Hamilton up front. Got pumped 3-0 from Ayr. Like the first team lacked desire and finish in the final 3rd. Good that Hoppy got a good reception from Livi fans at the St.Mirren game

Fans are fickle, Celtic fans giving Rodgers pelters for leaving them despite guiding them to a double treble and virtually having them a stick on for at least a double, prob a treble treble, our fans hero worshipping Hoppy after he decided to leave us after a back to back promotion, and wanting him back again.
Dunno what the twitter talk on Holt is, but he's done what was asked of him, and was way above all expectations for the first half of the season. Same 2nd half of the season form has happened to St Johnstone and Kilmarnock too, like us they were getting plaudits and the Killie manager was up there as a manager of the season contender, wonder if he's now getting Killie fans wanting him punted.

Yeah, can’t see any reason to bin the manager - ok we are struggling for results but that was always going to happen in this league. We are still by & large playing okay but the goals have dried up & that means we are struggling to win games & 1 goal is enough to beat us. It’s not like we aren’t creating chances, it’s just they ain’t going in.
