Big game today and, despite Motherwell being on a great run, it’s likely to be another match with very little between the sides. We’ve been on a tough run - Aberdeen, Hearts in the cup, away at Perth and then Sevco. The winter break seems to have had a negative effect. So many games in December probably meant the squad needed a rest but perhaps they had too much relaxation. They look a yard slower but I’m sure that’s being worked on in training.
If we can get something from today’s game, there’s also something there for us next weekend at home to Dundee. The Hearts game in between times isn’t going to be easy of course but we’ve played much better teams than the Jambos.
We know that Motherwell are very physical and ruthlessly cynical. I’m hoping that the returning Hardie and the speed of Tiffoney can bring about a change of fortunes in front of goal. If only Lee Miller was back........

Really? it was like watching Albion Rovers play Real Madrid

That was a pre-match assessment, you are speaking after the event... hindsight is wonderful.
Wasn’t there but would say it was the worst result of the season. Needing some sort of spark to reignite the season for us.

We were very poor today. Motherwell are, like other teams in the league, physical and workmanlike. Nothing more, which makes it even harder to take. We were shocking for the entire first half - hit and hope, lacking energy and ideas. All three subs made an impact but it was too little, too late. Having said all of that, it’s wonderfuk to be in the position we’re in, with only 14 games to play - of which 7 are against the bottom four sides.

We got our arses Well and truly felt in the first half. Seem to have lost all ability to put the ball in the net too. The Premiership honeymoon period lasted till December but it is finally over and Holt & Martindale are coming under scrutiny for the first time this season, time for them to earn their crust and get us out of the rut we're in.

The Premiership honeymoon period lasted till December but it is finally over and Holt & Martindale are coming under scrutiny for the first time this season, time for them to earn their crust and get us out of the rut we're in. 👏🏻 That’s exactly the point - “Holt and Martindale are coming under pressure for the first time this season....”. Who’d have thought that we’d be saying this in February? I imagine most of us would have thought it was going to start badly at Parkhead on Day 1 and get steadily worse from there. I think they, and the squad, have done an extraordinarily tremendous job in getting us to this point of the season with 30 points. Ask Dundee and St Mirren fans? It’s more remarkable that we’ve achieved so much without Hardie, Miller and Robinson for so much of it.
