Games against St Mirren, and our other true “rivals for survival”, are the biggest games of our season. Points against the OF are truly bonuses, but points against St Mirren, Dundee, Hamilton and Motherwell are the big ones. Double whammy. Our fixtures against the Paisley team have generally favoured the away team. We’ve got an amazing record through there but they have a fantastic record here. Seeing Ryan Hardie on the pitch on Wednesday night was a huge boost. He’s a genuine goal threat. Considering that we’ve been without Lee Miller and him all season, and we’re sitting 7th in the league with a positive goal difference, shows just how incredibly we’ve defended. We’ve got more goals in our team now, coupled with clean sheets - a recipe for even more points. Pittman to score tomorrow, along with Lithgow. 2-0 Livi.

I wouldn’t have labelled it a “must win” but would have called it a “must not lose” but when we fell behind & looked devoid of ideas I feared the worst.
Whatever was said at half time certainly worked though; second half we were by far the better side.
Great passing & movement brought the insurance goal from Sibbald.
I thought Keaghan got hold of the game by the scruff of the neck in the second half & Pittman & Byrne came into it to good effect as a result. Good strike from Pittman for the first (although the keeper might be disappointed with himself); Hardie scored his customary goal against them, albeit more in the style of Dylan Mackin than his own. Good following in by Sibbald to tap in after a glorious piece of football.
Excellent win & with Accies & Well losing it was a good day all round.

Excellent theee points to put even more blue water between our rivals and us. Credit to the manager for the changes and half time team talk. That’s how the manager makes a difference and earns his corn. Lots of tough games to come but these big ones against the likes of St Mirren, Motherwell, Dundee and Hamilton (rather than those against the OF etc) are crucial for our survival.
We have to be pinching ourselves that we are sitting 6th with a positive goal difference, and 16 points ahead of 11th place. Unbelievable.........but thoroughly deserved!! This squad and the coaching staff have massively exceeded expectations.
With Hardie back, Lee Miller close to returning and Rafa likely to be back after the shutdown, the squad is getting even stronger. There are more goals to come too, making it likely that narrow defeats will turn into draws - and draws being turned into wins.
