We know that Motherwell are an aggressive and overly physical side but that part of the game doesn’t concern me. We can look after ourselves. But we have several injuries to add to those of Hardie, Rafa and Lee Miller. It now seems that Scott Robinson and Alan Lithgow are missing tomorrow too. Plus another unnamed player. And Dolly is still suspended.
So, Ricki Lamie at left centre back to replace Big Al. Lawless on the left to replace Bobby Burns. Maybe Jack Hamilton up front instead of Robbo.
Our lack of strikers has begun to be affect our results too. Four games without a goal. We have potential scorers all over the pitch, especially from defenders and midfielders. They’ll need to chip I. Tomorrow. However Jack Hamilton has the best goals per. Unite ratio in the first team squad this year (let alone in the reserves).
1-0 Livi.

A defeat today and could our season be in danger of unravelling? Some hard games ahead!

A defeat today and could our season be in danger of unravelling? Some hard games ahead! Unravelling in 8th place, 11 points ahead of 11th, would have been an impossible dream at the start of the season. Back to back games against the OF, taking a point, and a defeat to St Johnstone aren’t spectacularly surprising results for a newly promoted team without its first choice strikers. The Hamilton game was a slip up, even though we were on top for so long. On another day we’d have won that one 3-0. No need to panic yet. Plenty of good games to follow with the chance of some points, including today and next Saturday. Come inn livi!

A defeat today would have been bad on the back of the last 4 results but I would hardly call it unravelling the season had it happened.
It was good to see much more cohesion in the side than the last game I saw. Good win & it reopens a healthy gap between us & Motherwell. Accies beating St Midden also keeps them struggling after their surprise win last week.
Ref was useless as usual. I kept expecting him to give them a penalty for falling over based on his decisions elsewhere on the pitch.

Fantastic result and thoroughly deserved win. Increases the gap with the bottom two. We still have a game in hand over some teams, albeit an away match at Pittodrie, so we are looking strong. Killie away on Wednesday is really tough - but it’s an artificial surface - and then St Mirren at home next week. If we win that, we can start to dream about survival. Bearing in mind that we have already played both OF teams twice, unlike some of our rivals, our league position is incredible! Also, with Hardie back next weekend, and Lee Miller and Rafa getting closer, we have three “new signings” to bolster the squad. Menga will be available for selection again now. Things are looking better and better. Eight clean sheets in 14 league games?! OMG!!

We bossed that game and made Motherwell look plain ordinary!
Some of our ball control was awesome! There were 3 or 4 long balls up to the front, especially in the second half, that were controlled with the first touch and with a wee bit more guile/luck we could have scored on each occasion.

Good to see Cadden having a cracking game, hopefully that gives him the confidence to kick on and get back into the starting eleven. Hamilton had a good game too, gave us a target man and he held his own against a very physical team.
What a home form we have, incredible to have only conceded two goals at home when we've played Killie, Hibs, St Johnstone, Celtic and Sevco, four of the current top six teams, and us being back in that top six now too.

Lawson’s was quite simply sublime, didn’t think he had that in his skill set. Robinson’s was almost as good. Lithgow had a special moment too, in the 1st half, when he did a quck turn near the half way line & left 3 Motherwell players staring at the space he had left behind.
