Another tough game against a team that has found the formula for staying out of relegation trouble for many years. I’d take a draw right now but I imagine others have higher expectations.
Our incredible start to the season is even more remarkable when we consider the absence of three players that I imagine will play a significant part by the end of the campaign - Ryan Hardie, Craig Sibbald and Lee Miller. Although Sibbald is now in and around the matchday squads, there is no sign of Hardie or Miller. It seems unrealistic to expect even more miracles of Dolly and Robbo, with some appearances from young Jack Hamilton. I know our goals are coming from all over the place, but a double-figures striker would relieve some of the pressure in the threadbare squad. Even so, I’m still pinching myself that we’ve got off to such an incredible flyer - and the games against Saints and Hamilton give hope that more points can be secured.

The long spells between games isn't ideal for keeping our momentum going but we're managing really well, a win here would be massive in opening a gap on the chasing pack looking to secure a top six spot.

As Gary Holt confirmed in his post match comments, we were rubbish.
The starting 11 definitely needs freshened up. So do the tactics, constantly pumping the ball in Menga's direction was farcical.
A chance now for Holt to show what he can do.

Yeah that was a game more suited for Lee Miller but the lack of options up front was our downfall last night. We looked off the pace and got caught flat for their goal, tbh a 0-0 draw was what this dire game deserved as both teams were poor but they got their goal and hung out for the draw so their game plan worked. We just need to dust ourselves down and get ready for the Accies game on Saturday.
On a more positive note, Dundee and St Mirren lost so we are well on course for securing our Premiership place for next season, and ultimately that is our main goal this season. Still hoping we can get a top six spot though, and only goal difference is separating us from fourth place just now.

Yeah, definitely a bad day at the office yesterday... in fact not only were both teams poor, so was the refereeing team. Their decisions may not have influenced the result but they failed to give us a clear foul before Saints scored (on Menga I think) & although they didn’t go straight up the other end & score, they did clear the ball & kept it away which did eventually lead to their goal - so arguably that failure to award us the free kick ended up leading to the decisive goal.
That said, as poor as Saints were, they stuck to their game plan & it paid off.
We have often struggled against teams who sit in & so it proved yesterday
