The plan is to invest in the first team. But I have heard the chain of events left a sour taste with parents of the boys involved, which if the press get wind will be a bigger furore than the kid that was punted for playing with his mates or whatever it was. The ball did stick a few times LF, stopped Robbo getting a clean run with it & our lads looked reluctant to shoot at times. KM hit a pass that would have carried to its target on grass but the bounce held it up & it was intercepted. Didn't stick like I've seen on other plastic pitches, on some the ball just practically stops dead, on Airdries it's like seeing backspin on it and there was some bad bounces too. It's more like playing on long grass with ours, can't wait till we play Celtic on it.  Maybe have to water it a good bit so it's slicker for passing the ball about. The black pellets kicking up all the time draws a critical eye onto it though, don't know if we're really needing so many but it looks a bit like overkill. |
