Sounds like a well deserved 2-1 victory this afternoon. Any thoughts from anyone at the game?

Good 1st half from us -- too complacent 2nd half -- boys thought it was all done and dusted until Halkett mistake gave Airdrie a goal and some fight.
Early days -- but i do not think Kenny Miller has a full 90 mins in him -- he was blowing at about 70 mins and was playing too deep as he didn't have it in him to stay up / run up front.

Needs to get himself fit then cause as I understand it he wants to be our main man up front...hopefully like our previous player-managers, he'll realise quickly he has to concentrate on one thing or the other. Never like player-manager role.
Given it is what? Our 3rd game & 1st competitive match, a win is a win; so happy with that.

Sounds like a well deserved 2-1 victory this afternoon. Any thoughts from anyone at the game? Scrappy! Lucky! Maybe a lot harder than it needed to be but don't agree we were lucky, Airdrie had one shot hitting our bar, we had three shots off their woodwork, and several shots when through on goal saved by Gallacher's feet or legs, Halkett had a free header at their goal he should've buried too. I think we were well worth our win, and really should've been by a lot more. The slack defending shooting ourselves in the foot gave Airdrie the proverbial lift that energized them to give us a harder game than it needed to be too, but after a dodgy ten minute period we settled it down again and had a few chances to put the game to bed. Sibbald coming on gave us a wee lift too, and looked like he'll be a great signing, always looking for the ball and was taking players on and making great passes. It's still early days in our preparation for the league starting, two pre season games and a Betfred cup game under our belt, we had some lovely passages of play and some slack passing too, along with Halkett getting caught on the ball for their goal, so a bit of work getting us up to speed is still needed but we're getting there.

Looking at the highlights on Rogerthatproductions- the pass from Byrne to Halkett bobbled badly and was over hit giving Halkett unnecessary work to do and not enough time to do it. Also highlighted that if holding a high line is going to be our modus operandi that we will get annihilated by a decent side.

Agree some lovely passages of play especially the initial move of parking the supporters bus, that was exceptional.
For a pre-season friendly a great turn out by the travelling support perhaps even outnumbering the home support but I could be adjusted on that one.
Didn't stay full game left around 60 minute mark seen enough similar performance to last Friday night's game.
Next pre-season v Hamilton will be a test however Annan had a good result against them but like all these friendlies you don't play your full squad.
Only one complaint felt the Irn-bru was just a little under chilled!!
